Couple of things - baby monitor, car seat & anchor points (mazda BT-50 single cab ute
1. BABY MONITOR -
I haven't really looked and probably should but is there a monitor that can actually monitor 2 rooms?
We are now upstairs and the girls are down, we have a monitor in DD2's room but nothing in DD1's at night if DP is snoring or we have the heater on i can't always hear her sooking and would love to be able to have something without having to have 2 listening devices.
2. MAXI RIDER AHR -
DD1 seems to have outgrown her turn-a-tot which i fin strange as it says to 18kg but the straps are nearly below her shoulders and she's by no means a tall girl (my lil midget)
But SIL has suggested the Maxi Rider AHR, it was her next one - are they good value, will it last her for some time?
3. UTES & CAR SEATS -
DP would really like to be able to get a car seat for DD1 so he can take her places without leaving me without a car, he's thinking about taking her away for a weekend, giving me a break etc BUT he seems to think there are no anchor points in his ute.
I am not sure on the rules for utes, is there a car seat that we can use for DD1's age (21mths) that does not have to be attached to an anchor point or that can be used in a ute?
Thanks in advance everyone... i really need to go look at carseats, hopefully this w/end.. can't believe my little girl is getting so big.. got excited when we turned the seat around, now she needs a new one

not sure about you other questions, but i know in my mum's ute, which i have been using for a few months, you can bring the seat forward and there is a square metal thing you can bolt your seat to. (it's not an actual anchor, but does the job)

ZF how old is the ute? If it's after 1990 it should have anchor points. Both of my brother's utes do, he checked jic we ever needed his help in an emergency. They will prob be hidden up on the parcel shelf and will just be holes that you add the bolt too, you can get the bolts from baby stores for a couple of dollars.
It's a brand new Mazda BT-50, we got it in Jan this year, i told DP it should have one and he thinks it doesn't. I might GOOGLE.. lol
Are there specific rules with having car seats in utes?
ETA: Googled and a list comes up of inclusions, there is one for the single cab ute and there is just a - no X or no optional so i have no bloody idea, might have to look in there myself or call Mazda..

We have 2 Maxi Riders and they are fab! The laws in Vic state that the child must be an approved child restraint until they are 7 years old and the Maxi is rated to 26kg so will easily take a 7 year olds weight. My DD is 2.5 and my DS is 4.5 and they are comfy and very safe.
1. Baby Monitor - As far as I know there isn't one that can monitor two rooms (I could be wrong!). It would be confusing if it could anyway, you wouldn't know which room the sound was coming from! I just use two different monitors for my kids rooms, most come with two channels, so you can set each one to a different channel.
2. Maxi Riders - They are brilliant car seats, I love ours . You couldn't really go wrong .
3. Utes & Car Seats - Have a look in the user manual you would have gotten with your ute, it should tell you where the anchor point is if it does have an anchor point. You can get anchor points put in otherwise, but apparently it is quite expensive. There are no child restraints suitable for your DD's age that don't need to be anchored in.
