All-In-One Cloth or Disposables. What Do People Reccomend?

I need advice,

I cannot decide between disposables or those all in one cloth nappies. I thought about using cloth but I thought all that was available were the terry towelling ones and I wasn't going to use them because they are not usually very absorpable. A friend told me about the ones from peapod and baby beehinds, but I can't decide. Are they any better? Is there a breand out there that are better then others? Please help.

Hey Julia, lucky you've got plenty of weeks to do lots of research.
I love my MCNs and we have been in them about 16months now. They are no extra trouble and they are so cute.
There are hundreds of brands out there and all different sorts of actual nappies. Have a read around the MCN threads and you'll see the ones people love/hate.

My plan is to buy one or two a pay until the baby comes so by then I'll have a stash as I never bought small ones before.

I've used the MCN's now for almost 2.5 years and love them! They are so easy and much nicer than disposables - not to mention cheaper!

My tip - make a list of the ones that you like and get your friends to put in for them at your baby shower. That's what I did and it was the best present ever.

Have a journey over to the nappy forums and have a look around, also if you google oz cloth nappies there is heaps of info there. We have a thread called Cloth for New Users that may help you get an idea on what you are up for.

I had DD1 in disposables because I thought they were easier, but with DD2 in MCN's I'm realise with the new cloth nappies that it didn't make much more work at all.

I have both peapods and BBH the first ones I brought were peapods and some people loveem and others find the BBH better myself am a fan of BBH. I switched to MCN a few months ago and have converted 2 friends aswell.

Out of Peapods and BBH...BBH wins hands down. For my Peapods leaked something bad on my girls...BumGenius is my all time fav though!

Disposibles can be handy too...i have them on hand for when i go out, FDC, gasto, teething or when bad nappy rash happens (usually after FDC so i can use Sudocream).

I'm looking at BBH but will look into MCN as I hadn't heard of them. I will also get some environmentally friendly disposables on hand.
