    Which ERGO Carrier?

So I'm convinced - I MUST have one....

But which do you lovely ladies recommend? Sport, organic, original?

Any 'must have' accessories I should buy with it?

    Thanks in advance !

I have the original in black with the camel hood and the heart to heart insert! I love mine... I wanted to grey stars one cause it's hot! But they didn't have it where I bought mine. It does get a little hot in my boobs wearing it now, mainly cause DD's head rests in my cleavage with the insert. The sport is lighter and more breathable I hear.

They are great carriers! You'll love it!!!

Oh and I heard the suckling pads are great but I don't have them yet, will once DD is older.

Depends if you need the sport over the original, it's cooler material and straps are longer which is good if you have a tall hubby. I prefer the original over the sport for various reasons, but I also prefer other carriers over the Ergo. The ergo is a good carrier, but has it's little problems that I don't like.

I have the Sport, and I got it as it is lighter, not as hot, and longer straps for DF. I ummmed and arhhed for ages but finally decided on the sport. I also wear a lot of black.. and I knew I wouldn't tire of black as opposed to the colours.

I have an insert but I havent used it yet, so I cant say what they are like! I also pinched the teething pads off my pram for bubs to suck on so I didnt get those either. I probably would have if I hadn't had the ones off the pram.

I love the look of the Ergo performance have you seen that one??

I have a sport, love it, but I didn't use it til DD was 12 months+. The sport is 20% lighter than the Original.
The original is the same shape etc as the Organic, so for me the organic wins every time. Why buy plastic when you can get organic cotton?

Any reason why you didn't use it with your DD till she was 12 mths Lime? She didn't like it? I love the look of the green organic Ergo - at the top of my list thus far, unless I can be convinced otherwise .

I've seen the performance - but haven't really looked into it.

No, just didn't use a carrier until then - much much too hot in Perth the first 6 months of her life and then mum was sick etc and just wasn't focusing on finding one that worked.
We tried a sling, a comfy carry or something?, when she was little but she hated it, and tried a CC about 12 months also, but she was too big for it, found it very uncomfy and too stretchy for her at that size (11kg).

lol sorry, should have said that.
Yep you can use them from newborns, they have a new designed infant insert too which is apparently the bomb.
I will be using an organic from newborn this time, will let you know how it goes.

(Didn't think you were a nosey parker at all )

Do you want to borrow mine? I don't use it and its packed away in the shed somewhere but I can dig it out if you'd like it. I won't need it for aaaagggggeeeeessssss with this next one so you can keep it as long as you want.

    Let me know!

ETA - I don;t have the newborn insert though so you might have to grab that.

I have the organic in whatever that neutral type colour is called... beige or fawn or whatever. I also have the heart to heart insert, and it's great - means I have been able to use it from birth, although I didn't use it til she was about 5 weeks old. The insert is really good as it just provides that little bit of extra head support for her, which is especially great when she's awake.

The sport does sound good, for the cool factor, but I find this one (wearing it right now) plenty cool enough, and I live in steamy Brissie.

I have the sport & I love it. We tried them all on at the p&b expo and the sport was so much lighter & the straps were more comfortable on the shoulders. I started using it when bub was 1 week old, the insert is great. I love my ergo, it's easy to use and better for bub than other carriers.
The sport was our choice because we have a summer bub & in winter she will be dressed warmly anyway.

I have the Sport and it is so comfy. One advantage of the standard one is it has a pocket and the Sport doesn't. The dude at the shop said that the heat you get is often from baby next to your skin rather than the carrier, and you get this with all the models.

I just purchased my Ergo sport yesterday but waiting for it to arrive, so with any luck will get it either today or tomorrow. the reason I chose the sport was due to being more cooler to wear, the lightness of it as well as the support for the back. Also due to the others I have seen are from 3.5kgs and up and the ergo is from 3kgs (with the baby insert) My little Chloe is just under 3kgs now so I get to use it straight away when it arrives. I was going to go for the performance, but I didnt need that one as thats more for the taller people and well lets just say, Im not so tall. lol. I catn wait to try out my Ergo with Little Chloe or even miss V.
