Exclamation Foam mattress playmat - PVC cover - wanna find one!

OK! For those of you who have seen the latest "Clarke Rubber" catalogue you will probably have seen a baby playmat mattress that is in there for about $50. It said water resistant cover so i went to check it out thinking it was what i was after and when i got there i noticed the cover is a material cotton cover!! You can take it off and wash it.... but that's not what i want!

My friend has an awesome PVC covered foam mattress that is for her baby and it folds up into 3 so easy to transport or carry. She uses it for tummy time or for changing bub while sitting on the floor etc that type of thing...... or even just for baby as a playmat!

It's a great idea! You can wipe spills, vomit, poo, wee etc anything off it and don't have to worry about washing......

Now why can't I find one of these anywhere? I live on the Gold Coast. Anyone know where I can find one?? They are so practical and I'd use it heaps!!

    TIA

A friend of mine has a Bubba Mat. They are fairly exey I think, but that's the only brand I can think of. It is quite a large mat and folds up neatly. I think it even comes with a carry case. It is brightly coloured and has numbers/pictures etc on it.

LOL! I didn't realise they were that expensive! What about those alphabet type ones that clip together? They are just foam but you can wipe them down...

I saw those clarkes rubber ones too and had the same thought - I want to find that sort of thing but with a vinyl/pvc cover insted of one that you take off and wash. We had a wipe down change mat for DS, and I think that probably alot easier than having to wash a cover of you get a poo explosion or similar.
I wouldnt want to be paying more than up to $50 I think.
I havent started looking properly yet, are they hard to come by in the wipe down covering?

Ren, there is one of those in the bottom of my porta-cot. It is a mattress (thin) that is pvc covered and folds into three sections. Is that what you meant? It is dark blue. I actually thought it would make a great play mat!

Ren do you have a sewing machine?? If you do, or know someone who does, pop into a spot light and grab some padded PVC material (which will more than likely be in the same section as muslin wrap material) and whip one together yourself. You can buy a piece of foam from Clark Rubber and use your own cover. That is what I did and worked out so much cheaper plus you can make it whatever size you need. Plus another option is when bubba gets a bit bigger you can take off the PVC and put on a material one.

We've got one that is a base for our playpen. But we haven't used it, coz the playpen is around the tv LOL. It's a fairly big square, and doesn't fold up neatly, but it sounds like what you want. We got it from babies galore with the playpen.

    Hi Renstar.

Have you found a playmat yet? I have one that is a bit squishy and wipe-able. Mine is an Elmo one but you can also get Winnie the Pooh.

My old work actually imported them and I did the product development on them. I found them today in a $2 like shop for $8.95 each (long story but my old work had to sell off a lot of stock extra cheap and these were RRP $29.95 from memory). Anyway, if you are still looking for something like this I would be happy to buy one and mail it to you .

I have taken some pictures of DD on hers for you too see what they look like and the size (she is almost 8 kilos). They also fold into a storage like box.

I sound like a saleswoman. (really I don't want you to waste your money if it is not what you are after).
