I know quite a few lovely ladies have these Gro Clocks and we are thinking about getting 1 or 2 for the girls as DP is quite sick of the girls coming into our beds BUT i was wondering if they are worth the $$ is there an alternative?
I had a look on Toys R Us and they are nearly $80 and most of the ones on e-bay are similar once you add postage.
Is there somewhere cheaper, is there a another option and are they worth it?
We love DS's too. The first few days were a disaster with it - the first morning he brought it into us to show us it wasn't glowing green yet , and the next morning he sat in his room shouting to us it wasn't glowing green yet and he was awake lol. But once he got the hang of it, it's been great. We got ours from Aldi about 2 months ago for about $30. The only morning he doesn't have to use it is the morning our garbage truck comes because he gets up at 5.30am to wait at the window for it There is no stopping him on that morning.
I have one but scored it when bambino pronto had a half price sale! Definitely worth it once they get the hang of it! No one is out of bed before 7am unless they need the toilet!
The best price i found was Ebay from the UK.. came out about $44-50inc post i think, search Gro Clock (two words) seller is 'gamingsaving' it has a UK plug but includes the adaptor.
I have one and love it. You just have to get lucky with the price. I just saw an add in Melbourne's Child for another Sleep Trainer Clock, it's $49.99 and free shipping. It's on moosebaby dot com dot au. It looks very cute!
I got mine from Baby Bunting and when I did buy it I signed up as a member and got a discount on it.
I think the monkey one is around $50. I got a GroClock and love it. He comes in every morning SO excited because "the sun is awake mummy" so he knows he can come into our room. I love that you can set it for naps as well if you want to, later on it can be an alarm clock as well, plus it's almost like a night light as well. Worth the money for us!
I got one from Aldi! A little while ago, but it seems I definitely got lucky at around $30. Mixed results. He knows what it means, but at just over 2.5, he has little patience and it really depends on when he wakes. If he wakes at 6:10, waiting 5 mins is easy, if he wakes at 5:30, well that's a whole 'nother story. Looking forward to him learning to go back to sleep!
I haven't got one, but you asked for another option - we got DD to stay in bed by asking her "When do you get up in the morning?" and she'll reply with "When the sun comes up." We talked about the light coming into her room from the window and would give her masses of praise when she stayed in bed. Did that for about a week and now she doesn't get up until around 6.30-7 and then she'll climb into bed with us, often for another hour. Just another idea
