    Childcare Pram Removable Toddler Seat

I have a bit of a tricky question but I figure if I don't ask I'll never know! I have a Childcare Discovery Grande Taurismo Collezzione 4 wheeled pram. I'm not sure how old it is, but my aunty had it as a spare for her grandchildren who are 4 and 7, so that gives you some idea. I was just browsing on ebay and came across a removable toddler seat that is designed for the Childcare Trio or Trilogy 3 wheeler. The seller says she used it on her Baby 1st 3 wheeler and when she bought it she tried it on a few other 3 wheelers in the store and it fit them all. I am just wondering what everyone thinks the chances are if it fitting my older 4 wheeler?! I've got the measurements from her and it is the right width. And having looked at the photos of it on ebay and other web-sites I think the bottom mount would be right about where the footrest is. DH and I are on a budget and are planning another baby in a couple of years, so it probably seems like I am putting the cart before the horse. I just don't want to waste my money if it doesn't fit, but if it does it is a real bargain. The pram we have is just right for our needs as I do a lot of waking both in town and on a farm so I don't want to have to replace it unnecessarily in a couple of years!

Hmmm, tough question. I would be surprised if it fit the pram to be honest. There are so many toddler seats on the market and most of them are designed to fit the one type or brand of pram and that's it.

Even if it did fit I'd be concerned about weight restrictions (they are stated on the pram and toddler seats when you buy them), the possibility of the weight not being distributed evenly between the toddler and the baby, the seat not clipping into the pram properly and various other safety concerns.

I'd be more inclined to look for a pram and toddler seat set on eBay or in the Trading Post, etc than putting two randoms together and hoping for the best.

    Good luck!

Thanks Taurean, to be perfectly honest I hadn't even thought of the safety aspects of it!! I've been looking on ebay since I found out I was PG in July last year and since I live in a rural area there have only been a handful of prams and only one with a toddler seat and that was a 2 hour drive from here! So after doing my research I've decided to bite the bullet and save for a new pram and just buy the toddler seat with it in case it gets taken off the market. Even if it sits in the cupboard for a year or 2 at least I'll know that when I do get around to using it it's 100% safe! So thanks heaps!

No worries at all! Glad I could help a little There are several websites that sell many of the prams on the market at a discount and offer free delivery, especially on the east coast of Australia so maybe have a look on the net too.
