HELP!! King Size Single Bed - Quilts

We've bought DD1 a King Single Bed. However, i am having a lot of trouble finding a King Single Quilt. The shop assistant said they actually don't make KS Quilts and that I'd need to buy a Double Bed Quilt - is this correct? - i find it odd as they sell King Single Quilt Covers, but not the actual Quilts

So my question is does anyone have a KS Bed and if so, what size quilt did you buy for it and do the KS Single covers fit a Double Quilt?

    many thanks!

If you do find one it will probably cost you an arm and a leg. A double is a little bigger but not too much so I would go with that option

we use a double and it works really well...
the king single doonas are rare and so are the covers...

it is easy to get king single sheet sets...

So we use king single sheet sets and a double doona and covers

    Lucky kids!!!!!!!

I always thought you needed to buy a double.

We also got a double quilt and quilt covers after searching high and low for a KS quilt.
You could try ebay and there are a couple of manchester places online but they charge a lot.

We bought DS1 a king single and we just put a single doona on it as 1 he is little 2 he doesnt use it anyway as kicks it off and twists and turns and 3 can get cute kids doona covers with dinosaurs etc on a single but all adult boring covers on king single.

Have found king single kids sheet easy enough in target.

We just go with the single as well - i always just thought the double would look too big and the single really doesn't look out of place. I also jumped onto BIGW online and bought some sheet sets off there pretty cheap and Adair's online have some nice ones too.

Feeb/DanniiM - thanks! - So the standard Single Quilt fits ok - does it cover it properley?

yeah i got her the sheet set from Big W - very cute butterflies (she's obsessed with them!) and i looked at the Single Quilts but was concerned it wouldn't fit the bed. Yeah, i haven't found any Double cover sets that i think are nice for a little girls room

Yes it fits fine DS1 bed is against wall with a saftey rail on other side so not an issue that it doesnt hang down a heap over each side.

We don't have an issue with it not fitting either and DS1 is 9. We have a thick innerspring mattress on his bed too and it still covers pretty well - as i said doesn't look out of place at all. We use a single doona and just buy different doona covers. We just ordered the DS1 & DS2 a king single bunk beds and i got 2 x king single sheet sets and 2 x single quilt/doona cover sets for just $120 including postage from BIGW online.
