HELP ME! need a pram - dunno what to chose!

So, story goes I have a pram at the moment.

Peg-Prego P3 pramette and it came with the capsule (viaggio), boot cover and hood - its not new, my guess is around 2006/7ish?

My lovely sister got it for me second hand at one of the baby and kids markets.

Now, I first discovered last week I cannot use the capsule - its not Australian standards compliant, seems the original owner purchased this pram and capsule overseas - therefore no three point harness - so one safe n sound capsule and about $450 later.... I now have a car seat

The pram is not living up to my expectations at all, so far I have put it back together as a pram and I am not 100% happy with it - it seems a bit flimsy and when I put the hood on and move it forward the whole inside seat seems to move with it - not very good if my newborn is in there and someone attempts to move the hood whilst she is in it.

I removed the inserts from the capsule and fitted them inside the pram, but again it still
seems as if she would get lost inside it and it doesn't seem secure for a newborn or a toddler. The strangest thing to me, is that the top of the harness only "slides" into a fitting - a wriggly child would surely be able to get out of this in seconds.

SO - which leads me to the question what pram should I be buying?- I don't want to spend excessively, but I do want a pram that has longevity and is secure, comfy and not bulky, light and fits through a normal checkout.

AND what do I do with this pram and capsule - should I sell them on ebay or gumtree?

i have a Babylove Jogger pram with all the covers and whistles lol that i want to sell... PM me if your interested and i'll take some pics. It was great when our son was born up until about 9 months when he tried climbing out all the time. Probably not something to do with the pram but rather my boy

We now use an umbrella stroller, light and easy to carry around.... but hes 17 months now not suitable for a newborn...

Krikkit Only you will be the one to decide in the end....everyone has different tastes and different needs and wants in a pram. I have a BabyJogger City Elite, which I LUURRRVE....it was expensive, but it is strong, sturdy and has a fab quick fold feature. It fits a capsule (which I can strap into the taxis here in Singas) and it has just come out with a skateboard thingo that Max can stand on while I'm pushing bub's around. It can come with a toddler seat, but Max exceeds the weight limit for it.

It wasn't my first pram, I had a Love N Care one when Max was little and it did the trick....but now if I push him around in it (it's my Perth pram) he is WAYYYYY too massive for it now.

I also have a really basic umbrella stroller thingo that I got from Target which does the trick too....You could put a newborn in it too coz lay's back...although not really as sturdy as a good pram.

I guess one of the things you have to look at is whether you want to perhaps plan the use of it with a second child. Getting one which is a bit more expensive first go that would last the distance is well worth the extra money. I hear a lot of good things about those Strider prams, and they look pretty funky, but I think it depends on the size of your boot coz the pieces come apart? (don't quote me).

With the pram you have, if you didn't pay much for it, I'd just donate it....especially if
(like you figured out too late) the pieces for it aren't up to Aus standards with the capsule.

    Good luck with your search!

    babyjogger city mini

I got this one, I loved the elite - but was double the price.

The weight and the fold function really really really made this pram worth while, the simplicity of it is perfect.

I got the crimson and grey!

The green was a close second, but hubby isn't a fan of green.

After speaking with my sister she said she would have bought the BabyJogger City Mini or a McLaren. I was heading towards the striders, but after the poor reviews on the wheels not fitting through normal entrances I decided against it - my sister nearly shot me when I told her I was considering it, cause thats the whole reason she sold hers!

I also got the cup and tray attachment, what I would like to find is a seat liner to suit (apparently the kiddapotamus snuzzler)
