    Baby Jogger City Elite

    Hey girls,
DH and I are looking at the City Elite. We want to get a pram that has the option for a capsule as well as a second seat for later down the track. I also want a pram that I can take to walk the dogs etc, sturdy etc.
Anyone got the City Elite? How did you find it? I'm loving ho easy it folds away.
Also looking at a Grotime cot, any comments on those either?

i've been looking at prams also, though looking at getting the strider plus 3- it looks pretty good to me. It also has the option of capsule attachment, so you might want to look at that to. So many prams to consider, it;s hard to know which is the right one hey?

It is, all a bit overwhelming really! I looked at the Strider but the wheelspan is a bit wider than the city elite. I also liked the easy fold up method of the city elite. To be honest though, I walked into the store and it's nuts the range of hings you can get!

We have the baby jogger city mini and have had that since ds was about 12 months old and i love it. We were looking to buy him a umbrella stroller type thing but found them all so rickety that we ended up buying the city mini. I love that it is so light and easy to steer and dont get me started on the one handed fold, its the best invention ever especially in cafes and things when there isn't alot of room and you can fold it up and pop it away. However i wouldn't like it for the newborn stages, mainly because you cant have the seat face you and even though you can get a bassinette for it ds didn't stay in a basinette for very long. We had a strider 3 that we used till 12 months and i loved this pram as i could see ds with the seat turned towards me and even to this day i prefer the strider to the baby jogger for walking, i just feel that the strider is more stable iykwim.

You really need to think about what you want the pram for and plan for the future if you want to have children close together. We are now in the market for our third pram as we now need a double as number 2 is on the way so at this stage we are looking to go back to the strider plus. Dh is also infatuated with a baby jogger fancy running pram so we may soon be a family of 4 prams lol.

4 prams! Wow! We're having trouble choosing one!!! I'm hoping the city elite will do us for most things as we don't really want to have to buy another, not for a while at least. That's why we wanted one with a second seat. So much to get for baby # 1!

We have the City Elite and LOVE IT!!! It's worth every penny! We've used it from day one with DD. We had her in the bassinet until she was about 10 weeks old then we moved her into the normal seat. If I had my time over, I would have bought a SnS Unity capsule and used that on the pram instead. It would have been a lot easier to transfer a sleeping DD in her capsule than out of her car seat then into the bassinet. We did use the bassinet a lot though but I think the capsule would have been a better purchase.

I'd highly recommend this pram. We have so many friends who are jealous of our pram due to it's easy folding system (you can't beat it!) and the huge canopy. The magnets instead of velcro on the vents (??? I can't think of the word!) is another snazzy idea. It handles beautifully too and is only half a kilo heavier than the P&T's for memory. It's a fraction wider in the base than other prams so you do need to use the wheelchair isles at some places but we haven't found that to be an issue.

You won't regret it if you get one

We have the City Elite and love it - we also ended up getting the basinette attachement and the rain and insect covers. What sold us was the way it folded and how far over the canopy goes. Just remember to try putting it into your car before you buy as it is a little bulkier than some others.

LOVEEEEE IT!! I wish i could just buy the newer model!!

DS still uses it and loves it.... its big and fits him comfortably. I have a capsule to use on it for DD and its great for that too. I love the sun canopy on it.... the best ive seen and the quick fold is ace!
