Love N Care - Adiva Sport - Calling all owners/users/reviewers!

    Hi

My wife and I are so confused. We are about to be first time parents and are struggling with the whole pram selection dilema! We really want something that is reversible (handle or seat), but also has the ability for the seat to lay flat (once the baby is out of the bassinet - which we would be prepared to buy as part of the "right" setup). The Love N Care Adiva Sport appears to really tick all the boxes so far, and from what I have read on the Product Review Australia - your reviews on products and services on the Australian marketplace website has very favourable reviews. And you don't need to buy a separate bassinet!

We looked at the Steelcraft Strider DLX, but the seat doesn't recline sufficiently (in our opinion - and when we asked our friends they said that their babies prefer to sleep either lying flat or at a very slight incline) ... the DLX is almost at 45 degrees in the furthest position ... obviously once out of the bassinet stage.

We also looked at the Steelcraft Elite Reverse Handle, but I have read a lot of user reviews that have bad things to say about the wheels, particularly when you take it off the bitumen (ie on grass or hard dirt). So I think we have eliminated that one too.

Today we say the Valco Rebel Q, which I thought was the answer to our dilema, however, we didn't like how the hood wasn't fastened to the back of the seat (other than via the elasticated band), and also how there were "gaps" on the side by the babies head.

Has anyone out there in bellybelly land had any experience with the Love N Care Adiva Sport, or reviewed it in store, and identifed any issues with it or found anything that annoyed you with it? We are going to have a look at a store in Adelaide that sells them this weekend, so hopefully we can take it for a decent "road test"! However, I would really appreciate any feedback.

Also, if anyone could recommend other options we can consider that meet our requirements, that would also be greatly appreciated.

    Many thanks

PS: I apologise for my excessive rambling, but I guess it gives an insight into all the confusing thoughts running around in our heads!!

    Haha, hi and welcome Agwish!

There certainly is a lot to take in. I haven't tried the pram in question (we have a Phil & Ted e3) but I do have kids, and I had a couple of thoughts.

and when we asked our friends they said that their babies prefer to sleep either lying flat or at a very slight incline) ... the DLX is almost at 45 degrees in the furthest position ... obviously once out of the bassinet stage.
My experience has been that once bub is out of the bassinet stage, they can be cranky lying down, when they want to see everything. Mine have ended up reclining partially when at shops and fallen asleep that way. So as bub gets older, you might not end up reclining so far back as often as you think. But you might - humans, especially babies, are a tricky variable.

Which brings me to my next point. Do the best you can choosing a pram, but there's always the option to sell it and buy another one that suits better. I have things my first baby HATED, but my second baby loves and vice versa. That's kids for you. So don't lose any sleep over it, okay?

Congratulations on the pregnancy, and wishing you well with everything. Look forward to seeing you around the forum.

We have purchased the Phil & Teds - (Vibe), which I think is a great pram, we had the same problems as you looking at so many prams and there are alot to choose from.

We liked all the features the pram had which is why we decided to go with it.

The Beema Q from Babyco is also a popular choice.

    Hope this helps.

Congratulations on you pregnancy. All the very best.

agwish you sound so similar to me a few weeks ago. I spent hours on the net researching prams. I nearly bought the Adiva online without seeing it as I decided if I bought the damn pram I'd stop researching it! Then I decided to go and have a look and mess around with folding and unfolding (it was a shop on Tapley's Hill Rd that I was going to go to, not sure if that's the same one you're going to).

Anyway, for some reason I never made it to the shop, and ended up doing more research. In the end we decided on the Bertini X2, which we bought last weekend. It's $500 more expensive than the cheapest Adiva I've seen online, and that's without the bassinet (although a friend also has an X2, and she's lending us hers).

I'm totally rambling, without much of a point! I can't give you any feedback on the Adiva, except to say it looks great online, and is a good price. Hopefully it lives up to your expectations in real life.

    Hi,
i have an eighteen month old who has loved her adiva sport, we think that for many reasons it is the best pram on the market for us and are so pleased that we purchased it.
We loved that the seat was a bassinet at first it even comes with a mattress to put in for when you are using it with bubs initially. We love that you can reverse the seat easily our little munchkin stayed facing us for ages up to about six months i think from memory maybe even longer can't remember exactly. There are not many prams out there that will allow you to do that and given the latest recommendations that bubs learning and development can stunted by them facing away from you we love this pram. It is easy to fold and alter all settings. It might be a bit more cumbersome in your boot as the seat doesn't fold you take it off but it is not a big pram in the first place so it probably evens out in the end. We have found it very easy to use and have recieved many questions and comments on it when out and about. We have now purchased a similar twin pram as i am due for number two in a few weeks but we are still keeping the adiva just in case we can use it and a sling as we love it soooooo much.
    Hope this helps
