We're looking at both of these models and can't decide. We'll be getting the toddler seat as well.
Does anyone have any feedback? So far we don't think we'll spend the extra $$ for the vibe (even though it looks spunky ) because we can't see what features make it worth it...
Can anyone offer some advice in this regard?
TIA
We just purchased the Vibe and I love it!! I think the break on the Vibe is much easier to use, it just pressing a button on the handle to lock it and then pressing it again to unlock it. We thought the brake on the dash and sports might send the baby onto the pavement.
I've got the Sport, and TBH I'm thinking of upgrading (so you guys are all on the right track). Don't get me wrong, I love my P&T's, but I find the brake a HUGE PITA on the Sports - plus I walk an exuberant doggie, and I'd like to be able to put the brakes on quickly & easily if possible. I'm tossing up between the Dash & Vibe also (will sell my Sports second hand I think)... leaning towards the Vibe because
a) s'one in my mother's group has one and it looks awesome and
b) i like the fact you can fold with the doubles kit on. I figure you're juggling enough as it is, make it more convenient.
c) sounds like the brake is better also (from reading this thread!)
I've got the Vibe and love it. One of the reasons we chose it is because you can fold it down with the toddler seat on (we're not using that yet though as only have DS). But it's lightweight, easy to maneouvre, and DS find it really comfortable. Highly recommended.
Ooh, so you can't fold the dash with the toddler seat still attached? That is a good selling point.
(And Belfie, I get it - I like the look of the vibe too )
Otherwise I'd be leaning toward dash... But ugh, still undecided.
I have the vibe and we chose it because of the brake, we live in a very hilly area and have a very steep driveway so a good brake was the most important feature to us.
In saying that I have just had to take my Vibe back to be repaired. The front wheel would get the speed wobbles if I hit a bump such as a raised pavement. Just got it back yesterday. When I took it in the guy at the store said that it was a design fault because they rushed the prams out before they were fully tested. At least it was only sent away locally for a quick repair, the Dash on the other hand apparently has far worse problems and are being sent back to NZ for repairs. I don't know what the issue was with that model, I didn't ask.
While my Vibe was in for repairs I was lent a Sports. I hated it!!! That brake is the worst brake ever... bearing in mind that this was a loan pram so had been used lots of times so the brake was loosened off so should have been much easier to use. Forget about trying to use the brakes with thongs or open toed shoes. I hated that I need to use 4 clips to buckle DS in. I hated that the hood wasn't directionally adjustable to shade out the sun. I hated the way it folded, never seemed to be flat.
So, even though my Vibe has a design flaw and had to be sent back, I love love love the ease of use for the brake. I love that it folds flat in the car and with the toddler seat on. I love that DS gets buckled in over the shoulders and around the waist just using two clips. And I love that if I don't take my sun shade with me I can still shade DS just by flipping the hood over. I know that the sport is still a good pram, but after having the Vibe I realised how much I appreciate the features it offers.
Oh, and the Dash brake, I looked at this model too but thought the whole having to push two buttons in at the same time as lowering the handle to apply the brake might be a little tricky if you have hands full, especially on a hill and it wouldn't be easy to apply the brakes in a hurry. Needs a lot more coordination IYKWIM. The brake on the Vibe is one trigger button, very easy to apply in an emergency.
it's also a kg lighter than the dash and alluminium not steel frame so easier to get in and out of the car.
the brake is easy to use the only complaint about the whole pram i have is sometimes i accidently knock the red button and it locks bringing us to a sudden stop. can be annoying.
I agree with the accidental knock of the brake which brings you to a sudden stop, but I much prefer that than not being able to put the brake on in a hurry when you need to!
