so as the title suggests... for a first time mum not wanting to over/under pack my nappy bag can i please get some hints from you lovely ladies with more experience?
I have
2 nappies
packet of wipes
packet of nappy sacks (I use cloth nappies but just find these are easier than a wetbag)
change of clothes and extra socks
couple of bibs
teether
toy
couple of dummies
hand sanitizer
hand cream
change mat
bottle insulator (I use this for Darcy's drink bottle rather than for Nate)
peanut sling
hat
sunscreen
that's just as standard. I rarely use mine as we only live 5 minutes from anywhere but on a longer trip/day I will add extra nappies/clothes/food.
I leave mine in the car on a permanent basis, but when Darcy was little I used the nappy bag more and also kept another in the car with extra nappies/clothes/spew rags etc so that the nappy bag wasn't too heavy.
My nappy bag isn't as big as I'd like... probably a good thing as it keeps me from over-packing it, lol.
I have;
- nappies - 3 or 4
- wipes
- nappy sacks
- cloths for spits
- a zippered plastic bag with a full change of clothes, singlet, suit, jacket & socks
- a little zippered bag (like a makeup bag) with my stuff - lip gloss, spare hair ties etc - so I don't have to dig for them
- a spare wrap
- spare dummies
- her red book (health record)
thats' pretty much all we need for general outings. I fwe are going somewhere for the entire day I will maybe pack a separate bag with extra clothes & nappies, a rug to lie on.
The nappy bag has a change mat but we use it on the floor downstairs, so it's not usually in her bag
I have:
2-3 nappies
Wipes
Ziplock bag to put pooey nappy/clothes in (learnt the hard way when i forgot to take a pooed on top out and stunk the house out when it was only in a nappy sack)
Nappy sacks
Spare dummy
Spare top for me (reflux baby)
spare top, pants, beanie and socks for baby
tissues
2 teatowels for spit rags/chuck rags
2 bottles
formula dispenser
wallet
keys
phone
Beach towel (my changemat because I'm too lazy to get one and they dry super fast)
AndI just figured out why my back goes out of whack
this morning it was:

nappy sacks
2 bibs
muslin wrap

bottle and formula
red book

and that was just for a short trip to see the CHN!
I keep one of those Huggies nappie packets you get from the hospital which holds 18 nappies and i just stuff around 15 nappies in so it's not too big and it's great because i know i won't run out of nappies if i decide to stay longer or something.
Two changes of clothes for bub
Two pairs of socks
Baby wipes
Travel pack of nappy disposible bags
Spare bottle
Formula Portion thingie (lol)
Bottle bag
Powder
Paw paw ointment (nappy rash cream)
Lip Balm
Spare shirt for me (in case i get puked on)
Baby hat
Two blankets
And my usual stuff i.e. mobile, wallet, sunnies, etc etc
I probably overpack but one thing i've learnt from having baby is you can never be too prepared.
Nappies

othes
bandaids
nappy rash cream
toys
purse, phone, diary & keys
