have read all the previous threads about phil and teds, seems most people are happy??but was wondering and just wanted to check again before i went out and bought one...
dash or vibe?? which is better?
have heard some bad reviews about the brakes being dodgy... do you think its worth the extra $$ compared to cheaper buggies on the market?
We've bought the Vibe, and although we haven't used it as yet, I am really happy with it. Really easy to steer around, easy to collapse and open and has all the options we wanted for housing two kids. It is a bit more expensive than the others, but we figured we spend that up front once and will get quite a few years out of it.
so, happy with it, but as we're still waiting for our arrival, haven't really put it into full on use quite yet.
I was one of the "I hate the P&Ts" gang until recently when I bought one out of desperation for my two DDs - the tandem I bought was terrible. I bought the Sport - couldn't justify the extra $$ for the Vibe. Having said that, the brake on the Sport really is awful - its very jerky and stiff to get on and off and it usually wakes DD#2 because of the way it throws the pram around a bit - and that is one of the improvements on the Vibe. If you're not planning on doing what I did and having two very close together, and therefore needing the toddler seat of the P&T, I would recommend paying that little bit extra than the Vibe and get the Mountain Buggy instead. Its what I had for DD#1 and it is sooooooo much better than the P&Ts. And I would definitely not compromise and get a cheaper pram than either the P&T or the MB - having done that myself and ended up getting the more expensive pram anyway, I really do think that you get what you pay for.
Hi - we were set to buy the Vibe but ended up getting the Dash. It was narrower and easier for me to lift than the Vibe. The brake is much better than on the old Sport model - which is a great improvment. The Vibe looks great but it was just a bit too big for what I wanted, plus the demo model had scratches all over the metal and when I asked about it they said it was because it is matte aluminium whereas Quinnys etc us shiny aluminium. Will be interested to see if other people scratch the metal on the Vibe when using the toddler attachment in the front.
So we are now waiting for the Dash to come in - we have it on order and I think they said late July.

we have the sports (so old school i know!! lol) but they other 2 werent out when we bought last year. But they look fab!
Only problems i have with the P&T's is when the seat is zipped up to sit upright it is lobsided and the screws keep coming out of the guards making them rubb on the wheels making me sound like a bad shopping trolly
Otherwise love it and can wait to use the toddler seat in 3 months!
A good friend of mine did a lot of research before buying her second pram (for her second baby) and bought the P&T. She is a Choice subscriber and apparently they rated the P&Ts the safest, which was enough for her!
So when my sister became pregnant, she did reasearch too and also decided P&Ts was the best - now that it is my turn, I don't think there is even any choice for me! P&T it will be!
thankyou all so much for your good advice and input, very helpful!
we headed out today thinking we would get the vibe, but after seeing it and comparing them all it was down to the dash or sport, after an hour or so ( i decided we wernt leaving till we had finally bought something!) DH decided he perfered the sport, and thought things were more likely to go wrong with the brakes on the dash.. its also cheaper. i didnt really mind either way. so the sport it is!
all in all i am glad we went with P&Ts, i'm very happy with it, so far its been great to push around the house! can't wait to use it properly!
thanks again!
same thing , i went in to the store ready to buy the vibe , after about an hour comparing the vibe and dash and sport , the sport won ... its more narrow than the other 2 and the vibe was just too big and the dash's toddler seat didnt sit right when it was up the top .. i love my sport and use it all the time .... and bought the toddler seat at the same time !!!
i got the blue camo one as it was the only one ds would sit in , every other model he screamed the walls down !!
Charmalea - sounds like we were thinking the same!
we got the black and charcol one as we don't know what sex bubs will be and thought it would suit both. your lucky your ds made the choice for you! so many colours to choose from and i'm hopless at making descisions at the moment!
glad you love your sport too!!
I'm expecting number 4, and will need to upgrade our pram as the one I have wont allow a toddler attachment. The two youngest will be approx 20 months apart. I don't know much about P&Ts. Can you collaspe the pram with the toddler seat attached? Are both seats able to be placed in a sleeping position for them both at the same time? We are pretty busy and social ppl, and my other 3 kids have always been willing to pass out in a pram no matter where we are for a couple of hours. This is important that they both can sleep at the same time.
I'll head out the the baby shops to suss it when it gets a lil closer, just wanted a heads up. Thanks a million
With the Sport (I'm assuming the other models are the same?!).. You can collapse the pram with the toddler seat attached. However, only the main seat fully reclines and the toddler seat only reclines a little. It's best to go and check them out MumofMany as the sales people can demonstrate everything while you are there
