Question Please help :) Using a hammock and a baby monitor?

This must seem like a real dumb dumb question but I plan on using a hammock for bubs to sleep in some of the time, if not full time, and after reading another thread, I'm also really wanting to use a baby monitor with movement/breathing sensors. Would that work? Like can the sensor pads go in a hammock? Otherwise, has anyone heard of or used the Respisense breathing monitors that simply attach to baby's nappy? Are they as good and effective as they are made out to be? The website says that they can be used anywhere baby falls asleep - carseat, pram, hammock, etc.

Ahhhhhhh so confused. There's so much to learn! Any advice would be much appreciated

Good question. We rented a hammock for Miss m to sleep in - but we didnt' feel secure enough without using the breathing monitor, so we ended up putting her in the bassinette and then the cot and didn't even use the hammock at all!!

I know there have been no cases of SIDS in hammocks, but still.. there's always a first time for everything.. and I didn't want to risk mine to be the first.. IYKWIM?

    Thanks for your replies girls!

Rayray - that's exactly what I was thinking, it either wouldn't work or be as effective, which makes it basically useless. But I really wanna use a hammock! I just hope bubs does too!
Arimeh, I also wouldn't feel secure without the monitor, only because I am just too paranoid! I've looked into the respisense monitors and they seem good so I'll get one of those. Even if I don't end up using a hammock, it will still come in handy if bubs falls asleep in the capsule or the pram.

I will probably end up getting a proper monitor when he grows out of the hammock and transfers to a cot (or sooner if he absolutely hates the hammock!).

If anyone else has any other ideas, feel free to share

Exactly what i was going to say. We have a hammock and was given the Movement monitor (tomee tipee) from the in laws. Probably just use it for when bub sleeps in cot maybe day time?
And thats not a silly question at all! I was wondering the same thing!!!!

Yeah, I will get a sound monitor as well so I can use it for when he's in the hammock or cot and a separate breathing monitor (the respisense) to attach to him wherever he falls asleep and it will monitor the breathing - can you tell I'm paranoid?! Hehe, thanks for the tips, it's good to know what others have done or plan on doing
