    S n S Unity Capsule fit in P & T sports pram?

I am sure I read somewhere here that although the Safe n Sound Unity capsule is not made to fit in the Phil & Teds sports pram, it does in fact fit safely. Can anyone confirm this?? I live in a country area so cannot go to a shop and try the capsule out in the pram; I will have to order it in instead and just wanted to check on this first.

Any other feedback on the S n S Unity capsule would be more than welcome too!

    TIA

I am not sure which capsule is suitable - but do recall seeing an "adaptor/connector" to attach a capsule to the P&T pram at Babies Galore...

ETA: Just found this on site: ababy (add dot com dot au)

Use your infant car seat with a phil&teds buggy!

Now you can join the car seat with the great functionality of a phil&teds buggy together for the perfect strolling solution. phil&teds offers custom click in car seat adapters designed especially for attaching the Peg-Pérego Primo Viaggio to your classic, Dash or sport buggy.

In order to use the travel system, the buggy needs to be first set up in Stage 1, or newborn position, therefore the buggy will not accommodate two children while using the travel system.

Note: this item is not compatible with the vibe inline™ buggy.

I've seen pics of the SnS capsule in the P&Ts and they're advertising adapters for it - but I don't think they're out yet.
I know people do put them in without adapters and say they're safe. But unfortunately I was unable to test this theory myself without spending the money on the capsule.
I chose a Viaggio + adapters for my P&Ts for that reason.
If you want I can PM you some links of the P&Ts and the SnS.

Thank you Kamarine! I still haven't decided what to do so that would be great! I am thinking of getting the S&S capsule and seeing if it fits into my pram and if not, then I guess I just won't use it that way. It will still be really useful to have I think and seems like a good capsule, plus I have seen it for a good price. Any more advice would be great! The Viaggo is a little expensive for us unfortunately.

Bun we're in exactly the same boat - the viaggo is a little on the pricey side for us. It was only by chance I walked into a store yesterday and saw it connected to a P&T's.

I have the Dash on layby and am shopping around for a capsule so I look forward to hearing how you go with the S&S capsule if you end up trying it. Good luck!

Kamarine I'd love the link you referred to it you get a chance - thanks in advance

Yeah I must admit the Viaggio is not cheap - we're stretching our budget for it and probably only got it because we got near 50$ off it. But our car is a bit tiny too, so it was also for space reasons. It took us fooooooooorever to decide to spend the money on it. (Ordered it on Saturday and it takes 4-6 weeks. So hoping it gets here before bubs!)

But yeah, Capsules seem to have a decent amount of use even without clipping into the pram.
I'll dig up the link for you and PM.

Thank you sooo much for that Kamarine, that was a huge help! I had thought the P&T would need to be in the newborn position to get the capsule in and hadn't realised that you could still use the toddler seat in the back with the capsule on the front, and that bub would be facing you! I love that. And it does look pretty safe too.

Is the Viaggio much smaller than the Unity? I think we are going to have space issues too if we go for a no 3.

I think they're a bit on par on size. I have only seen photos of them side by side, thanks to living here.
I've heard - can't prove it though - that Viaggio seems to last a bit longer for some. I can probably PM them too you as well if you want. Haha.

But space wise for us, a rearward facing carseat meant no passenger almost haha. But the Viaggio was about 10+cms shorter.

It is a PITA living in an area with no baby shops isn't it?! We haven't been here long and when I was pg with DD we lived in Perth so it was no trouble at all. I think we will just buy the Unity capsule and see how we end up using it, it will definitely be a useful item even if we don't use it in the pram. Not sure if we are going to have any room for passengers in our car either after the new bub arrives!

HB - will definitely let you know how we go with the Unity once we get it! We going to Melb for Christmas so hoping to get one then.

Yeah the babystore here is really good - just the only capsule they have is the Strider capsule. So its kind of order from photos.

We're going to have the same problem with passengers too. And we've got people visiting just before bubs is born, so we won't even be able to put it in til like 39 weeks.

I dont know if I mentioned it - P&T are releasing an adapter for the Unity. But when I asked them (via babyshop) a few months ago they had no idea when. So hopefully soon!

Also the Unity Capsule is the Fisher Price Capsule and maybe the hipod capsule? The second two were rebadged as those. I can't remember exactly where I read that - but google might help and you could probably get those two cheaper. (Again not here. Why?!)

This thread has been so valuable - thanks ladies!! And thanks for all the info Kamarine

We too have the same issue with the lack of passenger space in the car, we were bought a Meridian but can't have anyone in the front seat with it rearward facing, DH wants to buy a new car (typical man lol) and I think it will be much less hassle just to find a capsule for the first 6 months! IF it gives us more space for a front seat passenger. I wouldn't mind sitting in the back seat next to bub but the onslaught of interstate visitors will make outings really difficult for all of us to head out anywhere.

If I can get one that also suits the pram that's just an added bonus. In the next few weeks I'm going to hit my local baby shop to try a few capsules in the car so I'll let you know if I discover anything new and exciting lol

    Thanks again!

The SnS and Viaggio have the capability to go til 12months depending on your little one. THey're rated around 12kgs. (I don't know if there are any others in Aust.)
I'm pretty sure thats why those two are more expensive.
I wouldn't carry a 10kg bub in a 5kg capsule - but I would use it to help make space as a carseat haha.
