Decorating help needed please

I have started to try and makes Oscar's room look like a boys room but am having a little trouble! I have a 'boat' theme going.... I have a couple of wooden yachts on his shelves and a yacht mobile.... what are other things that I can do to match in with what is already there???

Sea/boat themed curtains? Prints on the wall???
hang a sail from the roof over the cot? Boat book ends, picture frames?

I have bought for Zyon the whole lot of Leroy the Monkey pirate stuff from Salt & Pepper... It's so cute!!! (Google iit if you wnat to see)

What about some red, blue white flags. I saw some in a magazine a while ago and the flags were on a piece of rope and were triangle in shape and they were hanging on a wall. They looked really cool.

New curtains are always a quick way to update the look of a room.
You could applique or embroider or stencil anchors & boats etc on some of his linen
Also those transfers that go around the top of the wall.
Maybe a big plush parrot to make the room look more pirateish.
A new rug.
Some of the old fashioned looking maps on the wall (the ones that are brown and yellow shades) or some ship prints
A pirate chest toy box

find a nice big 3d picture frame and go for a scavenger hunt with oscar collect some sand, shells sea-weed, driftwood etc and maybe a few items from a gift shop with a naughtical theme and have fun creating an art work together or if you could find a double fame include a picture of Oscar or both of you on your adventure providing a keepsake to remember the day by.(actually a nice b&w pic of Oscar picking up a treasure off the beach would be sweet)

ROFL Jemima... have you been in my house We have one of those.... just need DH to put it up! They are funky.... I LOVE it!

Thanks for all the ideas girls.... I am a bit useless when it comes to boys stuff! We live near the beach so I thought it would be a good theme! Just struggled coming up with ideas! That gives me a great starting point!!

How about a boat bookshelf, I love those!
I have boat thememed bunting, that's the flags someone else was talking about.
Ebay has many canvas paintings too.
