    Sling suggestions for Breastfeeding

I am looking to buy a sling for breastfeeding.
Wondering if anyone has any suggestions on what is best. I have been told the Peanut Shell baby sling is good but would like some further info into other slings before i make the final purchase.
I won't be using it to carry bubs around so im not interested in carriers as its mostly for breastfeeding (to make it easier when im out and there are no cushions etc to prop bubs up)
Bubs is due Nov, so something light (yet safe) and not overly bulky would be ideal.

Any suggestions would be warmly welcomed.
    thanks

You know what, maybe I just didn't look hard enough, But I never foundanything that was "easy" to breastfeed in. I found it awkard to get your top out of teh way & the sling out of the way.

I made a pouch sling the other day though that looks like it may be doable.

But ones I don't think would work are the HAB & Mei Tie styles.

I will have to google these peanut ones, I keep hearing about them

eta - PSML, they look exactly like what I made the other night! If you have a sewing machine you could make one yourself.

FJ, a Peanut Shell is just a brand of pouch, it is not a 'type' of carrier as such.

eta: I just saw your eta, yes, you are exactly right.

You can breastfeed in a mei-tai or HAB (or any wrap for that matter), it just takes practice. Just untie the straps, lower the baby down to breast level, then retie. Once done, readjust them back up to a more comfortable carrying position. Mei-tais (and SSCs like Ergos etc) can be a little trickier to BF if you have a very long baby, and are not necessarily as comfortable to feed in as other carriers, but it is still definitely doable. I found that my bub hated being carried in a cradle position, so carriers that supported vertical positions like mei-tais were far preferable to me.

A ring sling is one of the best types of carriers for BFing, it is easily and quickly adjustable, supports a wide range of carrying positions including cradle carry, and the tail can be used to cover up with.

A pouch is also a good carrier for feeding, but does not have the advantages of adjustability.

Suse, what material did you use for your straps on your Mei tai? I want to make one of those too after seeing your famtastic effort. Just not sure what tuse for the straps.

FJ, for that particular style (which is based on unpadded, wrap style straps), I used duckcloth (two layers for the straps, three for the body), or you could use canvas, denim or any decorator weight fabric.

For other styles it is more common to use canvas, twill or cotton drill or denim for the straps and body, with polar fleece for strap padding and quilter's cotton for the front panel.
