Slings - which one/ones do you like??

I'm thinking about getting a sling for DD. Shes 13 months at the moment and about 10kgs.
I have a baby bjorn but shes getting too long for it. I found it really good when we were travelling on planes etc and am thinking a sling might be handy for our next trip (and next bub)
Which one would you recomend as the best one?

Well I don't have any other sling to compare it with, but I have a HAB and it's great. It was a lifesaver in the first few months, but even now at 7 months and just under 9 kgs, I still use it with DS. I have to admit, I can't wear it for long periods of time anymore as he is getting too heavy! But if you're after something to use for short periods of time then I would recommend one

Have a look in the Baby Wearing section as Suse has responded to one of these threads just recently with an overview of just about all the slings on the market! And Suse is the sling guru so its worth having a read.

    I think MummaMia started it....

    Hey, just saw this thread.
I used a hug a bub with DD when she was little, and she's now 15 months (about 10kg) and I use an Ergo. I love it. We recently went on holiday and she thought it was great (goes on front or back). Would definitely recommend them. You can also get an infant insert for when they're little but i never used it when she was small.

Do check the Baby Wearing section as suggested! Personally I love my Ergo too and used it daily with my DD until my tummy began to pop with second baby. I will get the infant insert for new baby. The Ergo takes up to 18 or 20 kg and is mega comfy.

Another vote for the Ergo Its great. I can still carry dd(31/2) in it, although she is getting too tall. On my back is still fine. It supports her weight really well - not painful like I found the baby bjorn to be after a while. Wish I'd gotten it sooner - it was really great.

I've never used the infant insert for it, but I did also like the baba sling when my daughter was younger. When she was over 2yrs I still found it handy for a hip carry but it did give me a sore back after a while. She loved being in it when she was a baby. I have seen some really nice patterns in similar slings.

I also went to a baby carrying workshop years ago, so we used to use a piece of material and tie her on when she was a bub. She loved it She's a bit of an 'up' kid
