Hi ,
i know this has proberly been done a 100 times but i cant find the right thread .
i want to buy a pram as a gift for a friend who is pregnant with number #2 and due in june .
Her Son is 4 , and her only requests is that its not a Phil and Teds , where the baby goes underneath the normal pram seat , the Handle adusts in height and that a skate board can be attached . she only had cheap kmart strollers for baby #1 and went through 3 in 18 months until i brought her a valco stroller so i was looking to spend a reasonable amount .
her son is still transported everywhere in the valco stroller so im thinking maybe a toddler seat might be still needed ? , she doesnt drive and i cant imagine the boy wanting to stand up for an hour behind the pram . does it make it hard to steer with the child on one of those skate board things ? do they get in the way ?
So i would like some suggestions on some options ?
i know with my child care pram ( similar to steel craft strider )the seat could be either a bassient or a seat . With other brands they were seperate things - did you actually use the bassient or just get the seat ?
thanks in advance

I just ordered the new Valco Rebel I.Q, it's about $630.
I don't know if it'll take a skateboard but it has a toddler seat for it that's being released next year. It has adjustable handle, is light to sterr & a good sized basket.
I'm not sure what to suggest, but I just thought I'd mention that a 4 year old will most likely be too heavy for a toddler seat, they usually have weight restrictions so that the pram doesn't topple over. It's probably worth going into a baby store and asking a salesperson what they recommend for a newborn and 4 year old.
myabe look at the abc buggy the toddler/newborne seat goes on the top of the hood and that way the 4 yr old can go in the bigger seat. you can get a reclining toddler/newbourne seat.
I saw an ad in the latest practical parenting mag for a tandem pram but is designed for an older child. They can stand and hang on or they can sit facing whoever when they get tired. The theory is good but not sure how it would work with a bub lying down though they said it is possible.
IT is a Roger armstrong one. Bootiq I think? Will have to check. It is the Joovy.
MAybe look into this as it sounds like it could work

My almost 5 year old and 3.5 year old are under 20kg so fits most toddler attachments still
I am not sure about prams, best to go into a baby shop and have a look, but you CAN get a cool bike that attaches to the side!! So the kiddie can sit... ill see if I can find a link!
I looked at them in the store They attach to the side of the pram, so they aren't in your way like a buggy board, and look like great fun for the kids!! The one at my store was $108, so teamed with a affordable stroller (I got a great 3 wheeler for $179) it can be a lot cheaper!
