We have an angelcare monitor, just terrific!
Good Evening To All,
The Target sale was great. I managed to pick up lots of bargains.. The $5 suits are great. I also managed to get the following:
* 7pce set (so cute)
* 3 pce set (the baby boots are fury bears just adorable)
* Sesame Street Rocker
*Sesame Street Cotton Baby wRAP
* Yellow & White Duck burp bibs ($5.00)
* White Cotton Baby wrap
* 3 pkt newborn singlets (white & yellow)
*Reversible Baby Wrap (yellow & white with ducks)
I wanted to get the angelcare baby monitor but my husband wanted to have a look at i first!!
How did everyone else go? Pick up some bargains???
i put a heap on layby. basically the whole nursery, pram and capsule. I spent just over a $1000 but the saving was actually $560. So im pretty happy with that... and that its all mostly done. Now they can look after it all until we move into the new place :D
wasnt real sure on the change table but got it anyway and i figure i can exchange or refund later... cant I... can you do that with layby stuff????? I dont usually layby, but ive got nowhere to put it all at the moment, and i didnt want to miss out on the prices.
and i took mum with me and she got us stuff too. ;) clever me!
anyone else?????
i was very norti... but i'm blaming my niece and nephew who kept adding to the trolley... it had to be them - couldn't possibly have been me!!
thank god for no deposit layby (and buying in a range of sizes! lol)
No deposit layby? I went today and laybyed a whole heap of things, and the girl told me how much the minimum deposit came to so I paid a deposit...she never said I didn't have to! Oh well...I need it all fairly soon anyway.
I got heaps of clothes, 2 nappy buckets, a 12pk of terry flats, a fisher price monitor and that's it I think. I was going to get a whole heap of those bonds easysuits but as I was stocking the trolley 2 different women piped up telling me they were rubbish and so hard to use on a newborn! So I only got 2, just to test :)
HollyM - I think those Bonds easysuits are awful. You just about have to fold the baby in half to put them in & out of it. Very awkward. We only ever used the one we got given once... never again!
ControlFreak - we must be pigeon paired somewhere... my BF in high school is now my SIL too! I married her brother (who used to pick us up from school ;) ) ha ha ha
Sounds like lots of you did some good retail therapy!
So I'm guessing that there is a lot more on sale than what they showed in the catalogue?? Goody...I'm getting excited now...can't wait for Saturday to come!!! I would go down in one of my lunch breaks but it's just wayyy too hot....
ss_storm - If you go to the Target website you can view everything that's on sale, even things that aren't in the catalogue :)
did anyone happen to know the price of the double stroller? I was in the Penrith store the other week & they had side by side umbrella fold stroller that I couldn't find the price of butDH was with me & he just luves my pram obsession (lol) so I didn't risk finding the price.
I can't find the stroller in the catalogue or on the website....
Anyone happen to notice?
Fiona - I didn't see the double strollers at our store.
I got a Fisher-Price car seat $149.50, save $149.50. We are going to put Harrison in the Fisher-Price one and the bub in his one because the F-P one has a higher back, Harrison's head is already at the top of his carseat. A Royal Potty $25 save $25. Baby carrier $29.99 save $20. Saved $195 I'm happy.
I only just got the catalogue in the mail and am soooooooo excited by this. I need to get DP's card tomorrow so I can go shopping. Just have to convince him to give it to me!!!!!!
Annoyed at the price of the car seat as we have the F & P one sitting in our lounge room still in the box. It was a gift but I know for a fact that the people who got it for us paid full price for it as they gave us the receipt in case it wasnt the one we wanted.
My wishlist is
-Avent ISIS breaast pump
-Avent bottles
-microwave steriliser
-Roger Armstrong bath seat
-portacot
-bright starts swing
-nappies
Fingerscrossed DP says I can go shopping!!!!!
For everyone buying a highchair....look and see if it is easy to clean! We bought a nice one form Target (does not matter where it would have been bought though), the high-low combo one and I have hosed it so many times as it has sooooo many nooks and cranies and once solids are under way and finger food is on the menu...the easier they are to clean, the BETTER!
If I was buying a new one I would actaully go for the old fashioned ones iykwim!
Just throwing my opion out there to help save stress attacks for some of you. lol
xxxx
Myson, in response to your question - I work at the Target in Townsville. Definitely can return the items. But you have to pay the entire layby out first, and then you can return/ exchange anything you want from it, just like you would any other refund. Change of mind returns happen all the time.
Hope it helps!
I had a blast!!!
Those 3 piece suits with the booties were divine..I could a few different ones. Stoked up on the big bibs, dummies, nappy bag, nuby cups etc.
But they sold out of the avent bottles! grrr gotta go back now!
thanks mrs Mathews. i was hoping so. will decide in a few weeks when i pick it all up.
Ali, i looked at the bright sparks swing but thought it looked a cheap and nasty, do you know anyone who has one? for $64 i will think about it a bit more but i would never pay full price for it.
Vixstar, i like te idea of the Ikea antilop for the cleaning reason, but doesnt look really supportive or like it has straps either (ony ever seen pics) but does look so easy to clean!
Nettie, thanks for the tip onn the suits. i was considering stocking up, but wil wait til i try them first.
Fiona. no dbl in my store either.
the website is great. I put everything i was interested in on the shopping list and printed it out. then i could check prices, tick off the list, and compare savings as i went. dh was impressed with the savings too!
he said to me "how much did you spend today?" i said "no no hunny.. dont worry about that... ask me how much i SAVED today!"
myson - The Ikea Antilop has a lap harness, I never use it though because there is no way DS2 could get out! (I never leave him unattended in it though ;)). You can buy a blow up cushion insert for $10 for smaller babies so they can sit up with more support. HTH :)
Good Morning All,
I looked at the bright sparks swing also and I agree with myson it looks a bit cheap, although at 50% off i guess its a bargain!.. However, the reason I didn't get it was b/c I don't think it would hold the child past 4 mnths it looked very small.
The breast pump seemed to be popular with alot of people at my local target store - why would you need a breast pump?
for those who are BF, the pump could be a huge help in expressing milk for feeding when mum isn't available (dad to feed, day care, stocking up before the birth etc)
as it stands, i'm at risk of gestational diabetes and was told when i was booking at the hospital that they would ask me to start expressing and freezing breast milk from 36weeks so that we have a stock ready for when Gremlin arrives - babies of GD mum's (or any with unstable blood sugars at birth) will be fed every three hours (rather than on demand) and sometimes mum just doesn't have the milk to keep up with this demand...
