    Tummytub

    Hi everyone...

Just wondering if i could get some feedback on those who have baught and used the "Tummytub". It is available at Babies Galore, and my sister wants to get one for me before i have my 2nd bub in March. At first i thought it looked a bit weird but after reading all about it - the safety aspect, the fact that it uses a lot less water than a regular bath, the material its made from, comfort and support factors for infants and the fact that you can use it up to 18months i am really interested in it and would love to hear from those who use it.

    Thanks

    I love love loved mine!

I found that it lived up to all of the positives built up around it and think it was one of the best things we bought for bub. I swear that everytime we used the tub, DH and I both said to eachother - soooo glad we got this!

    I loved it because
    • it uses much less water than a regular bath - good for the environment and for your back when carrying the bath
    • water was easily transported to the garden afterward for plants
    • we could bath in any room of the house we wanted, or outside when the weather was nice
    • the bath sits at a really handy height for you (with the stand)
    • DD would sit in the bath happily for AGES, chatting to herself, playing with her feet/toys, soaking, splashing etc
    • DD definitley appeared calm in the tub in the early days, I attributed this to the similarity to the similar sensation of being inutero
    • DD seemed to develop really strong legs early on as she really enjoyed pushing up in the tub to standing. With her buoyancy in the water it was easier than pushing up on dry land and she was immensely proud of herself for achieving this!
    • We were able to use the tub up to about 10 months, then easily moved into the big bath as she could sit and crawl about the big bath easily
    • I could travel with it really easily, therefore keep the same routine for DD

I really miss it now.. waiting for baby #2 so we can use it again!

    :yeahthat:

MJ is now almost 11 months and we are still using it.
Not every night as she goes in the big bath now and plays in there, but at leastonce a week we get the tummy tub out for her.
She loves it (well all things water really) and still enjoys sitting and splashing and standing up in it.
It was fantastic when we have been away and used it when we were camping, other babies just had to have wet washes, as they were not use to bucket bathing, but she got a real bath...

They say that it can be used up to 18mths dont know about that one, but we certianly are still using it at the moment and i have intentions of using it for longer.

What jackrose said about bathing outside is great too - there have been many warm evenings that she has bathed outside in the sunshine...

I would highly recommend this product

We bought one for our second bub. I think they are great too, there are just a few little things I hav trouble with..Like with DS, he's a pretty floppy newborn so I found it difficult to get him in a good posi. And, I found that even with the stool it can be tricky getting making it a good height so it doesn't hurt your back.
BUT! Otherwise it's great! So great for a second bub as you can take it anywhere around the house to bath the little one and still keep an eye on your cheeky toddler at the same time!..and it uses the tiniest amount of water, and so easy to carry. PLUS! Our toddler (20 months) begs to hop in it too after the baby has had his bath! And she'll sit in there for 20 mins or so while I get bub dressed. Bonus! (I can't believe she fits in it, but she does!)

Hi Ladies, Great thread. We saw these at the baby gallery and thought they looked good too and by the sound of things your replies they live up to the promo. But I was just wondering how you go about washing bubs hair in them?
