    Umbrella Strollers

I think this is what they are called.

They are the really cheap ones you can buy that fold up like an umbrella.

    Does anyone have one?

    If yes,

    Which one do you have?

How much did you pay and where did you get it from?

Does your child (how old) sleep in it?

    Is it likely to break?

Also are they easy for the child to tip?

I am thinking of getting one to take on holiday with us. I figured it would be light weight enough to take in the pram andcan also contain DD when I need her to be contained! LOL!

    Thanks in advance

    Which one do you have?
    Yes, Steelcraft

How much did you pay and where did you get it from?
    Toys R Us, about $100

Does your child (how old) sleep in it?
Sometimes if she is tired enough - it reclines a little but not much

    Is it likely to break?
Not at all - unless you run over it with a car

Also are they easy for the child to tip?

    Not at all....

I got the more expensive Steelcraft (than the ****ty ones you get form KMart) as they are way to small to push comfortably for me, let alone DH who is over 6'. They are also better quality and will last longer. We have had ours since she was 10 months old, it has travelled across country several times as oversized baggage and we have had no problems, damage or issues.
It is lightweight and fairly compact, comfortable for her and us, and has a netting basket thing underneath.

I also had a Maclaren one in Melbourne for a while, very similar, and also excellent.

Which one do you have? I have a steelcraft phoenix. Mum has a typical cheap umbrella stoller

How much did you pay and where did you get it from? I paid $120 for mine from Babies Galoore, but it is suitable from NB. Mum paid $30 for hers at Big W.

Does your child (how old) sleep in it? Mine yes (both my 2&1/2 year old and 10 month old have naps in it). Mum's no

Is it likely to break? Mine - no, Mum's maybe

Also are they easy for the child to tip? Mine, no even with nappy bag attached still sturdy, even without a child. The cheap one, I had it tip when DD got out, and it had a bag with a loaf of bread on the handlw, and nothing else.

I have a Maclaren stroller which isn't cheap, but it's awesome!

Just wanted to say though, the really cheap strollers that you can get at BigW, etc. tend to have really short handles which can be hard on your back because you need to bend down to push them. I don't think they recline either. They'd probably be OK for quick trips at the shops, etc., but not for long walks.

You could always look on eBay for a good quality second hand stroller

We have a Quicksmart Safetyfirst that folds up into a backpack that can be taken as carry on luggage onto the plane. It also fits into the footwell of the car so it is the one we take around everywhere with us when away from home.

We got ours second hand on eBay for $70

We got the smallest one we could find for travelling with, which is also the cheapest - $20 from toys r us. Its so cheap I can't even FIND a brand on it. It is brilliant, you can just stick it under your arm and it takes up almost no boot space. Its a bit short though so useless for long walks, but we don't use it very often so we can cope with that.

Never had any problems with it, wouldn't be without it.
