What bedding to put on a cot

I have been trying to look up recommendations about what bedding you should have in a newborns cot but cant find anything. Am I right in thinking just a sheet is what should go on it? Thanks to anyone more experienced who can answer this for me!

Buy single bedsheets and fold them in half for the cot. Saves heaps of $$$$.

A light doona type blanket and a bunny rug is what my kids had. It really depends on the weather and if they like being wrapped etc..

I also used lightweight cotton blankets when it was cool, over the sheets. SIDS recommend no doonas etc as bubs can overheat. We also used sleeping bags to make sure bub stayed covered.

MrsB26 - I think thats what I'll do as it *should* be fairly warm barring freak weather conditions like this week, and you're not too far away so should have similar climate! Thank you x :-)
