I ordered a package deal about 3 months ago for a cot / change table package, everything but the change table arrived ages ago, and I have only just found out today that the change table wont be available till September (I am now 38 weeks)
Now I am not sure if I should wait till Sept to get the one that matches, or get a replacement brand (still in White, but not matching) or just use the credit to buy something else in store...
Guess I am really disappointed I really was hoping to get the nursery all finished before bub arrives..
I think they should give you a temporary one to use until your other one arrives as it is their stuff up. Kick up a hormonal pregnant woman stink at the store hun! Hope it comes soon.
Can you get a refund and buy it somewhere else? It's their fault. I would kick up a stink.
If you can't, I would ask for a tempory table and wait for it. I think you will regret not getting a matching one and looking at the odd one will remind you of this..over and over again.
Another idea, I use a change pad on the floor when I'm over at my Mum's place and this works fine. It's not as nice as the change table set up but is safe for Bub or maybe you can borrow one from a friend who no longer needs theirs?
Geez, 3 months is a long to wait for furniture that you ordered another 3 months ago.

i've got a spare change table-top i'd be happy to lend you but i might be a bit far away for you? and i don't see us doing any melbourne trips anytime soon. can meet ballarat or bendigo?
or look on ebay, the change table-tops are there all the time, and most second hand ones only cost about 20 bucks. i paid 15 if i remember correctly. it's a good back-up to have, and mine will eventually be going to the in-laws house when they move up this end of the state, as they will be our childcare while we work!
ohhh didnt think of the universal change top, that a good idea! I might have a look around and see what I can find. In the mean time I have a change mat which I can use..

I would tell the store they have had plenty of time to get your order correct and they need to follow through and get you the change table you ordered.
Be firm with them and explain your situation and they should be able to arrange something to get you the changetable you ordered originally sooner than Sept.
So I called the supplier (not the baby store) this morning, just to find out if they have the change table in stock at other stores and was basically told that they are sold out across the board and are having problems getting stock in the country. She said Sept isnt guarenteed either.. and unfortunately there are lots of customers in my situation at the moment.
FYI - take care if ordering Bootiq Cots / tables.. you may not get your order for a while.
Not the stores fault, so think I will keep it on order for now and just do with the change mat..or borrow one. If turns out to be later than sept i think I will just look at getting a refund then.
Have you tried finding a second hand one one ebay or through one of the 2nd hand baby sales etc? You might pick up a matching one and then be able to use the credit in the store for something else.
