Are you the owner of a Double Mountain Buggy?

Hello!

I know this is a bit premature (as i am only 4 weeks pregnant ) but DH had time to kill while waiting for our car to be serviced so we went looking in a nearby babyshop at twin prams.

We'll be needing a double pram (but not til January) and I really like the Mountain Buggy Duo, but i'm confused about the price of them! I have seen them online (on numerous websites) for RRP $799... The one in the shop was over $1200!! (no extra's or carrycots included, just the pram!)
I asked the girl why the massive jump in price and she said that they had recently gone up in price (in the last two weeks) and that it is a different model that is why it is so exxy...
I've just double checked on a few websites and the current 2010 model is still on a few for $799!
What is the deal?! How much (if you don't mind me asking ) did you pay for yours and when? I just don't want to have to pay $1200 down the track if i can get one now for $799!!!!
Oh and also, are you happy with the pram!?

Oh hun, please don't buy a new one. I have just bought a second hand MBUD from the Gumtree website. It's 4 years old, no fading (which can happen fairly regularly I believe with black MBUD's), sheepskin liners and has rain and sun covers. It's also the NZ made model, rather than the new Duo which is China made. I already have a Bugaboo but wanted a double for walking so my 2 year old and newborn. I've just noticed you're in Perth too. I bought the Quokka for weeks and set up an alert on eBay but Gumtree was the best. What baby shop did you go to?

Oh yay! A reply! This was a babyshop in Cannington..

I have been looking on both ebay and gumtree but, again, the prices have varied greatly and some ads say the RRP was over $1000 some say $799 so it is most confusing! But i have seen some really nice second hand ones so i think that is probably the smartest way to go, closer to the time i'll REALLY start looking.
