faint pos on hpt, dr said neg

i have been testing since wed, had 2 faint positives with forelife (wed and fri), then tested today and got faint pos with crystal clear. i went to docs and she tested and said it was neg, but gave me a form to get a blood test mon if af doesn't show.

has anyone else had this and been ok? just a bit worried after m/c last time.

No real advice either but I know the tests that GP's use arent as sensitive as the ones we can buy nowadays .....

When have you been testing and when did the dr test?

The hcg will be more concerntrated in the morning then later on in the day so seeing as you are only getting faint lines you are probably only early on which is why the drs test came back negative. You have 3 positives so I would say congratulations!

The Discover One Step and the First Response early tests are the best when testing early. Give it another couple of days and see if the line is darker, as you are only 12DPO, so it would be quite early on

Also are you using FMU, it is the strongest and most concentrated? Also are the lines coming up within the 10minute time limit and have colour to them? If Yes then it sounds pretty positive to me

The GP's tests are no where near as sensitive... my GP said hers wouldn't show anything unless AF was 2 weeks late! FWIW my GP never did a test at her surgery, nor did she ever send me for a blood test. She just believed the HPT and we went from there.

Your faint positives sound promising tho Your blood test will show whether you are or not.

i was testing using fmu, but the doctor tested mid-day, so not fmu.

the lines do have colour in them (pink in pregnosis and blue in crystal clear, and the crystal clear line was the same width as the control line, just quite light). and they are coming up well within the 10 min mark. but also, the colour in the crystal clear test i took has faded somewhat, although you can still just about see it.

i have bought 3 first response early detection tests, and will test again tomorrow. i am becoming a poas addict, how did this happen?!?

That is exactly what I was going to say. I have also heard it from other ladies in here who have no moved on to the pregnancy threads. As someone else had said, you're only 12DPO, give it a bit more time, test at home again then when you feel ready, head to get your BT done. Woth having several pos HPT, I'd say CONGRATULTIONS to you!!!

Hey hun,
Similar thing happened to me last month, but I ended up with AF 3 days late, the line actually went away the day after I got a fairly OK BFP line, so a confusing BFN then one at the docs that arvo. I guess it was a chemical pg for me.

Still, I read heaps about it at the time, and there were plenty of ladies that went on to have normal BFPs and bloods, so good luck! I really hope you are one of those,

I found the Discover One HPT's and the First Response HPT's to be excellent! So easy to read and very clear. Whereas I used the pregnosis and also the crystal clear at one point and wasn't as happy with them. I also got a false BFP on a pregnosis when we first started ttc back then. Wouldn't use one of those again.

YOu got positive tests, that's a pretty good indicator that you're pregnant GP's tend to have lousy ones that are years old and out of date, so don't worry May this be your time!

Fingers crossed for you! I've had false positives (faint) with crystal clear before. My GP said that a faint positive isn't a real positive. That was accurate in my case but hopefully that line will get darker for you! Have you tried a digital preg test?

hey, ok i used first response early result this morning and i got for sure. the line was dark, so i am more convinced. i just hope it's a sticky one.

I did a HPT on Friday, can't remember which brand, might have been clear blue, and it came up positive in about 30 seconds, and very clear. I went to the dr that afternoon and she did a test and the line took ages to come up and was very feint, so like the others have said, the tests they have are not as sensitive as the ones on the market these days.
