Unhappy OPK - test - Lines????

Hi all as you know I am new to this whole world and it is definately not as easy as I first thought it would be

On ff I am supposedly in my most fertile time - my CM has been all over the place - stretchy but not clear and I am so confused.

So I thought that I would but an OPK (the clear blue were the only ones that my chemist stocked) any way I have a line but no where neatr as dark as the controll line so I know that I have not yet ovulated even though I have those lovely green squares on my ff calander.

So after all that my question is is a line better than no line??? Am I on my way to ovulation or is the line no indication at all

Sounds stupid I know but this is doing my head in THANKS

    Hi Kylie

You're on your way to ovulation .......!

It isnt "really" classed as a positive until the line is as dark as the control line (mine never really got that dark though). You will probably find that you might get 3-4 days of a line of varying shades and then it will taper off. The darkest line you get, will be the positive. Some people get a really dark line and others (like me) dont get a dark one at all. It might take a couple of months to figure out how dark your line will get or you could be lucky and hit the jackpot first time! I'd start BD'ing now that you have a line of sorts and keep BD'ing either every day or every second day until the line completely disappears.

    Good luck.

    Me again!

Lullaby Conceptions (website) sell OPK's and HPT's for a LOT cheaper than the chemists and the delivery is super quick. They also come packed in a brown box so are quite discreet. Check them out. Also, have you joined a TTC group? If not, I suggest you join one so you get support from others going through the exact same thing. These girls are fantastic!!!

Firstly, with your CM the colour doesn't matter so much, moreso the consistency. The stretchu CM is definitely fertile EWCM, it may last for a few days before ovulation.

Secondly, with OPKs you have to have the line equal to or darker than the control line. Sadly they don't work the same way as HPTs in that a line is a line. The line will gradually get darker as you approach ovulation until it's equal to the test line, so maybe use that as an indication as well.

    HTH.
