    Should I get OPKs?

Hi girls. Well, another TTC cycle, and the last chance for a while so I really want to do everything we can to maximise our chances. I've been thinking of ordering some LC OPKs, but then I thought 'Well we're planning on BDing every second day from day 8 of my cycle anyway...so is there any point?'

I mentioned to DH that I used to feel that small pain every time I ovulated, but I haven't felt that at all since the m/c in June. He said maybe I haven't ovulated since then, which kind of scared me. So now I'm thinking maybe I should get the OPK to make sure I'm ovulating!

Very confused and concerned, and really want to order tonight if I'm going to, as I'm already on day 3 of this cycle! Someone help me! lol

Edit: Oh! And what's the general thoughts on preseed? If we're not having lubrication issues, is there any point getting it? Is it only for if your mucus isn't quite bountiful enough? I feel concnered that it would not be as good at 'transporting' swimmers as cm. Thoughts? Experiences?

I love opk's! I think it really depends if you want to bed every second day or not. For me When I did that I ended up not enjoying it and and my cm was not its best so I used opk's next cycle and only had to bed at that time which was great and cm was not an issue.
If you are not quite sure when you are o'ing these are really helpful but remember not all women get positives from what I have heard although I have never experienced this and my temps also reflect the positive opk by a temp rise the next day to say I ovulated.
Hope you get your BFP soon!

I've never used OPK's so I can't help there. We typically BD at least every second day around O time and this worked last cycle.

If you get EWCM I wouldn't bother with preseed as that's usually why women use it. Personally I use evening primrose oil to help with fertile CM and it worked the very first cycle I used it (triple the usual dosage for a few days before O until O) even though I never saw any EWCM.

Hi dea. Day 1 of your cycle is the first day of AF. So start testing maybe day 12. Hope this helps.

    Lisa,
My experience of using OPK's is not good. They work for some, not for others. Firstly, it is possible (not necessarily probable, but possible) that you have not ovulated since June. I was getting my AF and wondering why it was taking me so long to fall pg. When I saw my OB he did blood tests which showed I wasn't ovulating - so you can get AF and not be ovulating. Secondly, I then took clomid (medication to help you to ovulate) and used OPK's every day of my cycle and it did not once give me a positive to say that I was ovulating - well, I fell pregnant that cycle so must have ovulated but this did not show on an OPK (and I believe I followed the directions precisely). So, for me it was a waste of time and money to use OPK's. If you intend to BD every second day it may not be worth getting them and if you wish to determine if you are in fact ovulating it would be best to do this through your Dr. rather than relying on OPK's, IMO. Best of luck to you.
