ebay hpt - how early have they actually shown a BFP?

    Hi ladies

I'm posting this cos i just received a lot of ebay tests today in the mail, trying to save money on my poas addiction! Thing is, I am not a fan of them as I've never actually seen a BFP on them and I just wanna know other thoughts? Like, although i'm told they pick up hcg levels as low as 10, I have heared they're more like 50.

Anyway, has anyone actually had a BFP on one? If so, how soon after O and how dark was the line? Or have you actually been UTD but still had a BFN on these tests? If so, how many days past O did you test?

Any thoughts and information in this area would be greatly appreciated! I've never been a fan of ebay tests, I guess I just wanna confirm that they do actually work or not.

    Thanks in advance

I can't help with advice, but have you checked out pee on a stick? Type that into google and you'll get directed to the site.

thanks for that. I had a look but they don't seem to have a brand name specified on this particular lot of tests i bought... not too sure.

The ones I use from ebay I think are called preg now. They are 10IU sensitivity and have a blue strip at one end and are very small and skinny.
They are notorious for evap lines but I have seen my first BFP at 10DPO with my EP. IO must say it was hard to believe it was a BFP not an evap line so I then confirmed it with another test. They did however pick it up before the FR. I then had a BT about 3-4days later and BHCG was only 20 so it picked it up much lower then 20. Probably even lower then 10.
I buy them because I am a serial POASer and its just too costly to buy FR and some of the other tests available. They have caused me some heartache though when I hope what an evap line is actually an early BFP but turns out to be a BFN.

I'm a huge fan of the ebay HPT's! The ones I got were the bulk pack and on the listing it said 'early pregnancy test' and that is also marked on each individual packet. I just recently got my at 10DPO with one of them, I wanted to be sure so I did another and it too was a faint but surely was a BFP! Then I read the instructions and it says on there that you can test as early as 10DPO I was using the same ebay tests for 16 cycles and I got 2 other BFP's using them as well (I had 2 x mc's last year) plus I never got any evaporations lines on any other cycles that I wasn't pregnant... So I will use them in the future too, why spend so much money on FR when the ebay ones work so well and end up costing about 50 cents each!

Hi, just my thoughts, personally for me the tests were not as sensitive as FR, I got a BFP at 9DPO with FR, but it didnt show up on the ebay ones til about 12DPO, but still pretty good IMO.

I used ebay HPT's with DD2 got a dark line straight away I cant remember off the top of my head how far after O it was i wasnt checking O too well but it was a few days before AF should have been due. I actually swear by ebay tests but i guess its personal preference some tests work for some and others dont

    Thanks for the responses!

The one's i got are sold by a seller that sounds a bit mystical with their name. They're just the individually wrapped strips that show pink lines. I think they're marked ACG or something like that as the manufacturer. (can't be bothered getting up to find them)

Emmy - haha, we're both serial POASers LOL. I figured if they work, I might save a bit of money.. even if they take a little longer than the regular HPTs from the store.

Well, hopefully soon I can tell you if these ones work ???

I purchased these as they are cheap and have PCOS and never knew if I was preg or not due to no AF. According to my 1st ultrasound (due date) the test came up positive 10-15days post ovulation, I did it early morning and the line came up instantly. They are tiny and skinny but are so much cheaper than paying $15 for 2 from the chemist.

    Good luck.

    Thanks Mitzy.

AF was due for me on Monday, but my last cycle ended due to m/c so i'm either 5 days late for AF or i O'd late. Either way I guess it might take a few more days to tell me if i am pg or not. Glad you had success using these ones. Yep, they're much cheaper hey? I think i spend about $100 per month on tests from coles or chemists.. so this HAS to be the better option! LOL

All the best with you impening birth

i agree with the pregnow ones - from seller fertilitynatropath, I used their opk & hpt when ttc and never had a problem - with dd had a super faint + at 8dpo

This time i brought some from a cheaper seller, but the hpt werent until 10dpo and that doesnt help my poas addiction. So ive just ordered a batch of the ones i used with dd

I bought the bulk ones on ebay and they showed a faint positive at 10dpo, they are just the strip things with green on them, they said 'david strip' I found them to be great!

Thats a fantastic idea Ciara.e!! I never thought of buying preg tests off ebay - I went on there and bought 25 of the dip stick ones (I'll get the urine jars from work) for $10 including postage. At least that will stop me from buying HPT too early hehhehehe

They are so expensive from the chemist too !

I got a very very very faint pos at 13dpo with my chem preg last cycle. Haven't had an evap line on any of them yet either. They are from Inpregnancy, which I've found to be very popular in my ttc group. For $8.90 I got 20 dip stick HPTs and 5 OPKs (It was free postage).

I got a very feint + on 10dpo with first response and a very feint + on the internet cheapies at 15dpo. They are ok if you are prepared to wait until after you AF is due.

i know this is an oldish thread, but i bought my opk's and hpt's from ebay. they are called oracle, and my first pos came up 12dpo. it was faint so i waited a couple of more days and did another one and it came up darker. in the meantime i had a confirm left so i used that and it came up neg. also went out and bought some FR and got a pos straight away after the ebay ones i used. i highly recommend them!!!
