evap lines?

ok its been a good two years since I've done a HPT - I did one a couple of days ago ( which I'm sure was wayyy too early) and it was a negative. I just did one and on the face of it its neg as well, but I swear in the light I can see the faintest of lines...I compared with the older one which I kept and I can't see it on that one.

At the risk of sounding like an old fart, back in the day when I was actively ttc, I would say its probably an evaporation line. Is this still a regular thing or have tests gotten better? Just I notice the test has plastic over the strip now and its still fresh...evap lines in the past used to show for me after the test was a couple of hours old (dry).

Also the box says it can pick up 6 days before AF due, I am highly skeptical of this but hey, you never know.

How long should I wait to test again? would I be a strip if I wait two days, maybe I should wait longer. I only have one left in the box

Ah the things those pee sticks put us through!! With this bub, I did a HPT before AF was due, I just had a feeling and couldn't help it. It came out negative, but I swear if I tilted it just right I could see the faintest of lines. DH thought he could too, but we didn't want to excite ourselves so just basically wrote it off as negative. Few days later, AF was due and I did another, and it was positive! Hooray!!

I'd say wait a little bit, that line may just get stronger. I thought evap lines came up later, like after the time on the box it says not to look anymore. Good luck!!

Oh hun, don't feel down Those darn little sticks are designed to mess with our minds!! When is your AF due anyway? Like you I was always a bit sceptical about them picking up much before then. The chocolate certainly sounds like a good idea to me

thanks for the hugs kaytee, guess I'm a bit down about just being back in the ttc mind again after a 2 year break, we tried for 4 years and ...well to be honest quite scary. I'm not sure I'm up for it. The other girls from my lttc group at another forum either had babies, some adopted and a couple are still on the IVF, although I heard one is close to giving up like I did

AF is due on the 31st, I think. I wasn't actually charting, I'm here because I was confused about the messages my body was sending me. Swollen boobs, a little sore, strange twinges in my ovaries....but I could just be tricking myself, done that plenty of times.

I'm still getting funny twinges in my sides and yesterday higher up around my belly button, of course I could just have a stomach bug I mean really, what are the chances that after all these years I would just miraculously conceive.

If it helps first response didn't pick anything up with me until after af was due, every test was bfn until day of af or later

oh ok, thanks. I'm just waiting to see if AF arrives then I'll be trying forelife if she's AWOL.

Had a killer backache last night and was convinced she would be here this morning but nothing yet.

They say they can pick up early levels, but it doesn't mean they will. Depends on the level of hormone in your urine and what time of the day you test. Mine could be negative after lunch and BFP in the mornings! Also my last pregnancy was negative two days in a row and then very very faint the following morning. Just wait a few days and try again. I know that can be easier said then done, I go a little kooky when I am waiting and thinking that I am. But unfortunately we can't make time hurry up! Goodluck.

well still no sign of AF though I did get a slight headache this arvo. I have surprisingly plenty of energy and patience ( which I don't normally have before AF). I visited my chemist this morning they didn't have forelife but they had another "early" test prognosis. I only bought one, it was a BFN.

I am not buying anymore until my ebay cheapies get here

My boobs are still sore, I have no cramps, no nausea, no nothing ...so I'll just enjoy the fact that AF isn't driving me mad yet.

I should have started spotting today.

still no AF. Tested with ultrasensitive ebay cheapie which arrived yesterday. BFN.

Backache some cramping (more like pulling and poking) around my ovary/hip area. Still in an upbeat mood and my skin is clear. If AF hasn't arrived by friday I may go to the doctors and ask for a blood test.
