    LC evap lines?

Hi, i took an LC midstream hpt today but while waiting for the time to check it, i fell asleep and didnt look at it for 20mins. There is a definite second line there that can be seen at arms length, only problem is the time frame. Has anyone had any experience with evaps on LC hpts?

    Thanks,
    Carys.

Hi Carys, i have used lc hpts for a while and have only had bfn's. Although i do throw them away after about 10mins i have been known to pull then out of the bin hours later to obsess over the result (lol) just to see if i have missed anything Crazy i know but ttc does that to you.
Positive news for you is that i have never ever had an evap line from them!!! but i dont use the midstream, i use the cup/dip ones.
I would assume they are similar because they are from the same company. I hope yours is really a bfp. Will you test again tomorrow?

i'm hoping it means its a bfp too, i've been ttc for going on two years, so hence the reluctance to accept it as a bfp until im absolutely sure. I'm going to test again this afternoon. and im with you on the testing obsession, usually i start testing around 7/8 dpo, this month somehow i held out til 10dpo.

Carys I am a LC veteran and I have never had an evaporation line. If the line has colour it is not an evap line. Wishing you luck...

I did another test this afternoon and BFN. Its been three hours and it hasnt changed abit, there isnt even a hint of a second line. the one i took yesterday, the line had colour in it and was at least a third the colour of the second line. So i dont know, today is 11dpo, so i think i'll leave it til Wednesday when AF is due.

That's strange, Carys, to get a second line yesterday and nothing at all today.
Did you have much to drink before today's HPT? (I'm sure you wouldn't have as a 2 year TTC veteran, but it's worth asking)
Do you have any symptoms? Have tried doing another one? Maybe use a cup instead? Tomorrow morning with FMU might give a different result.

Can you tell that I'm quietly excited for you? Good luck!

Carys, I had that happen this pgcy too. Took a HPT one day, got a second line and then the next day didn't. As the girls said, it was cause I had drunk a bit more and diluted the hormones! Goodluck honey. If the line is STILL there on that first test, I would hazzard a guess it's +ve. Evap lines usually fade again!

Update to the above, i got another BFN yesterday 12dpo, then this afternoon when i got home from work i did another hpt quite surprisingly I've got a feint pink line within 10mins. My DH had a look and said there is a definite line there.

I have symptoms but as im on 400mg progesterone per night (2x 200 pessaries) its hard to distinguish between what the progesterone is causing and what could be pg symptoms. I have had a headache for the last four days, sore lower back, excessively tired, nausea, generally dont feel well. but i do have a problem in that I have had spotting yesterday, which is what the progesterone is supposed to stop.

I just find it odd that i got a second line at 10dpo then not again til 13dpo, so I think i might go to the Dr's tomorrow and ask for a blood test. Im not holding out any level of expectation that this could be it.

Good luck Carys. A blood test is the best idea. You will know definitely... Are you using the 10miu Lullaby tests or the strips that are 20miu?

    Thinking of you...

I've been using the 10 ones i think, and this morning also used a strip one. Both showed second lines, but again not strong lines, but definitely with colour and visible arms length. im concerned the colour isnt getting darker. went to dr's, he didnt bother with a urine test just ordered the blood test, so will know the result by tomorrow.

That's great. The 10miu ones are in a white case. Are they the ones?
The lines do take time to get darker. I didn't get a dark second line on the 10miu test ever but I am definitely pregnant! I would be very very surprised if Lullaby tests gave you a false positive... Good luck...

the white case with the purple lid. i agree, they dont seem like evap lines. its more the chem pregnancy scenario i'm concerned about.

I understand re: chemical prgnancy However, as I said my lines really took time to darken and never got really dark. I really understand how hard the wait is. Sending you a hug...

Carys i really hope that its a BFP and i hate to be negative but i got faint lines with colour etc. on three LC tests three days in a row a few cycles back and it really played with my mind too.

Im sure you will be right. I agree though that a BT is the way to go.

    7/7 BFP
    8/7 BFN
    9/7 BFN
11/7 BFP on hpt - went to DR for BT.
12/7 (ran out of HPTs, used OPK & was positive stronger than when i ovulate ??
13/7 Blood test came back negative and AF has arrived - 2 days late.

I should also mention, my temp has not dropped.
