first morning urine and faint lines

This is a bit of a stupid question, but if you pee a couple of times in the middle of the night, then test when you get up, is the urine diluted?? I would have thought not so it would be FMU, but I did a test this morning and a second line came up but it wasn't as dark as the control line.
I had a HCG injection on Sunday night (1500iu) which I am pretty sure has a half life of 30 hours (approx) so I should have an HCG of around 300 at the moment. shouldn't I??? If so, why was the test line fainter???

    I am 11dpo or 9dptdt.

No idea hun sorry but i'd assume because you're not drinking over night the concentration would be the same.

I remember reading on here years ago that FMU would be concentrated enough if there were a good few hours between teh FMU and when you last got up. but if you are getting a second line that you can see clearly then that is a good thing - I don't think I ever got a line as dark as the control line.

I dont understand the impact of the HCG injection. Maybe you metabolised it faster or something.

It may also be faint because you pee'd throughout the night. If it were me, I'd be writing a date on the test and saving it to compare to tomorrow's test.... But I am a POAS addict. If the lines get fainter you could put it down to the injection working it's way out (understanding that all tests are different and shouldnt be compared etc).

I would do (and have done) what L&B said. That way you'll know, one way or the other

Also (I did some sketchy maths for you, LOL!) I had a very high number at about 5 weeks (38000), and tested positive at 11DPO. My hcg would have been approx 2500 at that time, going by the doubling every 2 days guideline. My first test was faint, easy to see but definitely not what I'd call strong, and increased in strength over the next few days. Not sure if that'll help you at all. Fingers crossed for you.

Your HCG would be about 350 if you metabolise it out of your system as normal, but I get rid of HCG much much faster than that, maybe you do to? FWIW, I tested with FR when my hcg was 20, the line was about half as strong as the control, and when my hcg was mid 50's, it was almost as strong as the control. Either way, it's impossible to tell if this is pregnyl or a real bean sorry. Still got my FX for you on Monday. Hang in there.

EDIT: forgot to say. There is nothing magical about FMU except for the fact that MOST people have held their bladder overnight. FMU held for only 4 hours is no different to pee taken say at 1 pm held since 9 am, etc.

    Thanks everyone

I was pretty sure that it would still constitute FMU as I had nothing to drink.

With regards to the HCG shot, there seems to be another school of thought within the University of Google that says your body metabolises it at a rate of 1000iu a day. Perhaps the truth lies somewhere in the middle!

Also, I had a look over my old calendar notes from my last cycle in May and, back then, I did a HPT on Friday 20 May, three days after my last HCG shot (Tuesday 17 May). It was the arvo though so the urine would have been more diluted. It was definitely fainter than this morning's test (not that it means anything!) because I had to have good light to see it. I kept testing (Tash, you aren't the only serial POAS-er!) and the line was pretty much undetectable on Sunday morning (22 May) - two days later. My beta on the Monday(23 May) was 2. So I guess, based on that, the Pregnyl HCG jab was out of my system four to five days after I had it.

Sorry, that probably doesn't make sense to anyone but me

Long story short, if I keep testing (yeah, like I'm going to stop ) then I should know either way by Saturday (which, coincidentally, is DP's birthday).

Thank you so much for your warm wishes and advice

    Couldn't wait, could you?

Everything still crossed for you, hun. With this pg I got a faint positive at 10dpo (FMU) and a nice clear one at 14dpo. I have no idea whether the shots on board would be making a difference for you, but either way, it's obviously not going to work to tell you to stop obsessing!

Good luck hun i think the rule of thumb is that you need to have atleast 3 hours between wee's for it to be concentrated enough.

You could just get busy planning a holiday in about 38 weeks that you'll have to cancel next week.
