    Question False positive?

Hi everyone. I know that false negatives are common (I had one with DD) but how common are false positives? Last month, AF was late and I had a very faint positive wee test. A few days later I got my period so I assumed it was a false positive and the lateness was because DD was breastfeeding more often than usual in that week or so. Which one is more likely? I thought false positives were quite rare? I'm not any medication or fertility treatments that would interfere with the test.

Pregnancy tests test for human chorionic gonadatrophin (sp?) which is supposed to ONLY be present when there is a chorion (placenta) implanted. So i would say a faint BFP then AF would be a chemical pregnancy.

i hope you're ok hun, i'd been wondering after reading a few of your questions recently if all was ok.

If you read your results in the timeframe given a false positive is highly unlikely. I would say that you were pregnant even if only for a short time..... Good luck next time, it just takes one good egg.
