New and lost with OPK.. Pic included.

Hey, So i have always browsed this forum, but never really posted.. Now I need some help :P

Last AF was 6th Feb (33 day cycle) .. I have been using OPK's.. this is the scenerio:

I got a heap of OPK's a while ago, and I thought Id start using them.. this is how they have been:

    22ND POSITIVE
    23RD POSITIVE
24TH POSITIVE SURGE (TEST WAS WAY DARKER THAN CONTROL LINE)
    25TH POSITIVE
    26TH POSITIVE
27TH POSITIVE SURGE (TEST LINE WAS WAY DARKER THAN CONTROL LINE)
    28TH FORGOT TO TEST
29TH NEGATIVE (ALTHOUGH CONTROL LINE AND TEST LINE WERE SOME WHAT CLOSE IN COLOR)
    1ST POSITIVE
    2ND POSITIVE

Here is a pic of the one I took today.. http://i1243.photobucket.com/albums/...84/photo-1.png

AF is due 10th March.. So I can't still be ovulating can I?

    Hi Mizzamy,

    Welcome to BellyBelly!

Do you have PCOS? Often opks don't work for women with PCOS because their bodies have LH present all the time.

    Hope this helps

I would have serious doubts about these OPK's. In fact I would disregard them altogether. Do you have PCOS? It can make you have the hormone surge and many pos tests even when you are not ovulating. Do you chart your temp at all? This is a much more accurate way of working out your cycles and discovering when you are ovulating and even IF you are ovulating.

In a normal cycle, OPK's would show a pos for 2-3 days as the surge only happens around 48 hours prior to ovulation. After you've ovulated it should go back to being neg.

Another thought- have you done a preg test? Sometimes a pregnancy can make OPK's show pos results.

    Good luck honey

Thanks ladies for your prompt responses

No, I don't have PCOS.. Yes Im thinking I should disregard them.. Maybe just go by the 'standard' according to the online calculators that I possibly ovulated on or around the 24th.

No, I haven't tested yet, since Im still about 7 days away from being due, so it would be too early.. Hmmm.. And the thing is, I got a good brand (first response) ..

Ive never done tempting either, maybe ill try that for next month

    Were the tests old?

I know I have used some old opk's before and they were a bit iffy. same if they were even the slight bit damaged where the lines come up..

HTH and that its actually from being UTD and you get a bfp!

I had the same thing and did a preg test which came up positive but didn't stick by the time I got preg the second uume with my little one I had got it down ti a fine art if only needing a max of 4 opk tests a month so didn't test long enough for it to pick up on hcg
