OPK never fully positive!

I am in a pickle! I have religiously been checking for cm and using OPK. I had a steady increase of the darkness of the second line and was almost as dark, then on the day after I had cm (presumably ovulated) the test strip LH line decreased. The second line never got as dark as the control line so I am worried if my LH is not enough. What does this effect? Has anyone else experienced this? or should I try another brand? PLEASE HELP!

I was doing the same the month i fell PG with #3...only i never got a +ve read in 14 days! I say it was the brand i was using. Cos i must have O'd at some point

lea79 - I never had any luck with opk's until this month when i bought some midstream ones off the internet. They worked fabulously & I got my first ever +, the test line was almost twice as dark as the control line.

Hi girls!

Thankyou for all the advice. I was a bit worried that my hormones were out of balance or something like that. I will try a few different brands and see which suits me best. Sounds like a plan to me!

With OPK's you will get the darkest result 12 - 24 hours before you O. The hormone surges then and that is that the test detects.
Also the time of day you are testing could be a problem. I'd never get good results if I tested before 8pm. I actually had a -ve one at 5pm then I did another at about 8.30pm and it was amazing how dark it was then.

Hello everyone!

Just thought i would post that i am really happy the OPK was fully positive this cycle! I used the same brand but i think the previous times I may have had too much water on board and diluted the LH. I drink alot of water so this time I tested when I hadn't had anything to drink for a few hrs and what do ya know... i got a great positive OPK! I was starting to worry that my hormones may have been out of whack or something like that. Still sussing out my cycles at this stage but it looks very promising! Next time i will read the directions properly lol
