Question Are Forelife Ultra HPTs a waste of time and money??

I've heard varying things about different brands of HPTs - I've been using the Forelife Ultra (by Foretel) Early Preg Tests, they're cheap and claim a sensitivity of 10mIU... I'm 14 DPO with some symptoms (that could also be AF but she is nowhere to be found) and tested a BFN this morning... I've heard that lots of people get false positives and negatives and duds and etc with these tests... Is there a better one I should try?

I've heard some recommendations for First Response, but then others saying that is unreliable...

And does anyone have any idea why so many of these 'less-sensitive' tests give more accurate results than the so-called 'sensitive' ones? I've heard of people testing simultaneously with the Forelife ones and other 25 mIU tests, which come up BFP while the Forelife one is BFN!! What's the deal with that??

    Hey
I guess with every pregnancy test out there there are going to be duds and faulty ones. Although the most reliable one most have found are the ones from lullabyconceptions dot com. You can get 10mIU and i think 20/25mIU (its been a while )

The reason why some sensitive tests may come back as a false posiitive is either coz they are faulty, OR because women have HCG levels in their bodies but never more than 10mIU, which is why they say HCG levels of over 10 generally means your pregnant. So these low HCG levels could create a positive if the levels are high enough (but not over 10).

With the less sensitive ones your HCG levels have to be higher, which no doubt mean your pregnant. But even these can be faulty sometimes.

Either way, you will find every brand will have a faulty batch at some stage, some more than others. Definately check out lullabyconceptions pregnancy tests, i cant say i have ever heard of these being faulty
    Good luck!!

I've heard alot of mixed feedback about Fortel tests - I have to say though I've used them alot and never had a problem. They picked up three pregnancies for me before 11dpo and they were all right. I've never had a false positive.

I've also used First Response and found them very good, and Crystal Clear.

Just like any product there are varying degrees of quality control between brands, which is why you get varying results. You also don't really know how and when people tested either. People who pee test alot tend to get a bit lazy with following directions...I know I did

I got two false positives with those stupid tests. They're cheap so I guess you get what you pay for?

I like First Response, I got a clear negative when I wasn't pregnant (no evap lines or shades), and a clear positive at 10DPO when pregnant with Jazz.
