Smile Using OPK to test early pregnancy?

Hi All, just had a question hoping someone may have or had similar issue about using an OPK to detect pregnancy. I had my last period 27th Feb and usually have a 28 day cycle, I am pretty sure I ovulated around the 8th Feb due to CM and increased libido which I get same symptoms around this time every cycle. Wasn't TTC but had a bit of a mishap and definitely feel pregnant (have since 2 dpo). I got a first response HPT and did it at "7 dpo" with FMU and of coarse negative I had heard of using OPK to test early so I went and got a pack. I used them on 15th, 16th & 17th (CD 17, 18 & 19) in the arvo and they are all positive. Test lines are definitely as dark as control line and came up straight away. Anyone have this happen and be pregnant (or not pregnant)? I have never used an OPK before so not sure on their accuracy. [I used the Confirm brand] I have pics of test but not sure on how to post them

    Thanks!

    Hi! Welcome to BB.

I had a positive OPK before a HPT - hpt only started show two lines at 5 weeks pg! So for me yes they were effective.
I hope someone else has a story for you.

    Good luck!

This is a bit late, so you probably know by now! But...

For me OPK's are confusing and not indicator of pregnancy. I used forelife OPKs and had really dark +ves for 6 days straight. I used HPT's at the same time as all these +ves and they were BFN. And then AF arrived.

I only used them that one cycle too. But I have also read that its common to get +ves for 3 days, as you can be catching the surge on its way up and then back down.

Hope it was the result you wanted :-)
