Questions about Lullaby Conceptions HPT's

Hi ladies.

I am sooo confused about Lullaby Conceptions HPT's right now! I did a search here on BB and found a thread about internet cheapies, and how the number (mui I think it's called ) that is listed on the pack means they're LESS sensitive. So 10mui is less likely to pick up a pregnancy than a 25mui test?? I always thought it was the opposite. Does anyone know if this is true?

Also, I have heard a lot of good things about the LC tests (mine is the cup one) but is there anyone that these tests have NOT worked for? I know at least one person on BB who has told me they haven't (thanks BabyWrangler )

Brief story of what's going on.

FF said that I O'ed around cd 13...I disagree, I think it was more around cd 19 or 21 (you can take a look at my chart). Anywho, on cd 33 I had a big temp drop, some cramping, and a small amount of blood, like the tip of a tampon, for that day only. Since then, nothing. A few cramps yesterday, but aside from that, nothing at all. Still getting BFN's on my LC tests, so I'm starting to go a bit insane, wondering if the blood was implantation, and whether I should go out and get a store-bought test instead.

Hi, 10miu is more sensitive than a 24 miu test. I found Lullaby to be a very accurate test for me.

I jsut need to point out though if you had an implantation bleed on cd33 that's only 3 days ago so no urine test is going to pick up hcg if you did conceive. Your chart is a little hard to read as there are dips a few times.

I would go and get a first response test - they are pretty accurate and are a 10miu as well..

Why did your doctor say you ovulated much earlier than you think you did? Did you have a progesterone level done?

Thanks for pointing that out to me Inanna, i.e. the 10 miu as opposted to a higher one.

I haven't seen a doctor about this yet, just what Fertility Friend says. I was also not aware that a pg test would not have picked up a pregnancy so soon after an implantation bleed, (if that is waht it was) so again, thanks heaps. This is only my 3rd month TTC, and I'm still learning and getting my head around everything, lol.

I think I will go out and get a First Response, although I will hold off using it for a few days and see what happens.

I know this thread is over a month old but I thought I'd answer anyway just in case anyone else is reading this down the track and is interested in LC HPT's as well.

Yes the 10miu is definitely more sensitive than say a 25miu so it will detect a pregnancy earlier for sure. When I was pregnant with DS2, I used a LC HPT at 9dpo and after the 10 minute mark I got what I thought was an evap line (a VERY faint line that appeared after 10 mins). The next day, I did another one, and got another very faint (but slightly darker) line around 10 mins. So I did another one later that day (because I'm a POAS addict ) and got another faint line but this time before 10 mins was up.

So by the following day (11dpo) the line was appearing slightly darker and before 10 mins. So the original "evap line" really was an early BFP. I know they say 9dpo is too early for a BFP - maybe my O date was a day or 2 earlier (which is possible and does make a bit of sense when I take into account other factors), but still, it showed me a faint BFP very early.

I did find however, that the actual lines themselves were fainter and took a bit longer to appear than the Discover and First Response Brands. But it definitely picked things up early.

First Response still remains my favourite HPT though, although its more expensive than the LC HPT's

I thought I'd add my two cents as well. I don't recomend the Lullaby HPT's. I did 2 last cycle and I got what looked like 2 positive results. Which I thought was just fantastic but I didn't think they were right. So I had some members on a forum have a look and they agreed that they were positive. But just to make sure I tested with a crystal clear test and it was a negitive and AF came 1 day later on time. I have emailed to try and get some clarification but as yet I have heard nothing.

I don't think they are of great quality and I certainly will not be purchasing any of their HPT's or OPK's again. I would rather spend the extra and get them from a chemist.

I haven't used First Response but I have heard they are pretty good. I will be purchasing that brand next time.

yep, I think they're fantastic! When I've had BFN's with them, there has always been a good, clear white space. When I've had BFP's, they've always been early (like 10dpo) and accurate. Definitely no ambiguity. I also like the Discover One Step (which at the time I used them seemed almost identical to FR), but they're a bit more expensive for some reason.
