I thought I would come to the women who would probably know more about this than anyone else. I've been told by a few women that you can fall pregnant when there's a full moon about??? I recall the full moon in July and can distinctly remember having mettszchelmerz or ovarian twinges at this time though I'd only ovulated like 7 days prior to the full moon weekend, mindy you I have ovulated twice in a cycle before so it may not have been due to the full moon, but was wondering if there any truth to this myth?
I would think though that it would depend on when you menstruate in the moon cycle too... Not all of us menstruate at the new moon!
However, most women will follow the moon's cycle with their menstruation so consider what phase the moon is in at your time and the 'opposite' phase is likely your ovulating time... not an exact science though!
When I was TTC both times I charted against the moon cycles but I could never see a discernable pattern. First time I conceived on the new moon, 2nd time on the waning moon. However, first time I'd been off the pill a fair while before I conceived whereas 2nd time I'd only come off the pill four months earlier - not really long enough for your cycle to synch to where it's supposed to be.
If your cycle's in sych I think there's something to it.
It's common knowledge among doulas and midwives that babies like to come around the full moon - I was sceptical about this before becoming a doula but now I keep my calendar clear around the full moon and don't stray far from home...because if I have a mum due you can bet it'll happen around the full moon. Go up to birth suite on the full moon and it's always packed There is something about women and our cycles that is tied to what the moon is doing, I'm sure of it.
in years gone past I used to bleed over the full moon but nowdays I ovulate over the full moon - which is annoying since i use my menstrual blood in ritual and usually at full moon, so when I go back on birth control I'm going to have to regulate it so I bleed over the full moon again
