    Bedwetting

At what age is it a "problem" B is almost 5 and still wets the bed regularly we have a no drinks before bed rule, she goes to the toilet before bed and we have even tried waking her in the middle of the night to go but when she wets she is literally not conscious that she has done it she doesn't wake because of it and wonders why she is wet in the morning with no memory of weeing

I don't have any experience as my eldest is only 3, but I have been told that it is common until they are 6 or 7 years old.

My nearly 5 year old still wears nappies to bed otherwise she would wet the bed too.

My 3 year old is toilet trained at night - just different kids.

My ten year old only became dry in the last 12-18 months.

My 7yo has been dry for 4 years.
    Different kids.

My 5.5 year old still wets the bed occassionally, maybe every 2-3 months. Nothing to be worried about at that age.

I was still wetting the bed at 7 - but later in life it was realised I had a kidney issue which delayed my ability to control my bladder for long period of time.

I wouldn't be to concerned just yet, but maybe check out the bed monitors that have an alarm to wake Miss B when she start wetting. My sister used one for my nephew when he was about 6 and it worked for him.

    Good luck.

My DS wets every night and is 5.5. DD has been completely dry since 2.5!

I'm not worried but would rather it be over by now!

I got some info from the RCH Melbourne website which says that about 1 in 3 wet the bed at age 4, dropping to about 1 in 10 by age 6, then 1 in 20 by age 10. So it's pretty common, and it's often not as simple as getting them to restrict fluid intake as the day goes on - some kids have smaller bladders, some are super heavy sleepers, some just don't produce enough of the hormone overnight that tells them they need to go to the toilet. I think it's a good article, it's made me feel comfortable about our situation, and is good because now DH is on board a bit more too , Might be worth a bit of a google.

DD is 6.5 and still wets at least once a week.
Last year our GP said to come back and chat about it if it's still happening when she is 7. 7 seems to be a common age to get some additional help/advice amongst people I speak to (health professionals & other parents). Course it depends on how much it troubles you or your kid, I suppose. DD is sooooo blase about it, I don't think it'd be worth my while doing anything just yet.
