    Kids and fizzy things

Ds (19months) loves sparkling mineral water so I give some to him in his sippy is it just the same as water? Or can it affect their teeth or be bad for them in any way?

We have given dd soda water or mineral water for a few years now, no problems yet and the dentist said her teeth were perfect but might ask next time I am there.

I don't think that it will be a problem for their teeth, but you might want to keep an eye on the salt content maybe?

The fizzy is just c02 (carbon dioxide gas pumped in to make the bubbles) so as long as there's no sugar added then it shouldn't have any effect. It's the bulk load of added sugars, colours and preservatives in traditional "fizzy drinks" that does the nasty work.
