I pick their clothes 90% of the time. Dd1 would be there all day deciding otherwise, so I let her pick out her socks, underpants, and unless I want her to match she can also pick out her shoes and a jacket.
Otherwise no doubt she'd be wearing either a harmony or rhapsody fairy dress ;)

DS isn't quite there yet although he will often insist on wearing his 'eyes' (sunglasses) round the supermarket. and yesterday he wanted to wear his footy jumper. i think it's cute when i see it though - i just always figure that people know the LOs have chosen their own outfit :)

I let DS pick his clothes every day. Shorts and a jumper with long socks - fine. That's FiL's fashion choice too. Sometimes I'll ask him to put on a shirt, but he picks what he likes.
I buy the clothes (DS picks and I can veto sometimes) and remove them when they need it, so it isn't like he's going out dressed that badly. Just cos I wouldn't wear rust-orange and bright red together doesn't mean DS can't.

ds is not even 11 months yet but I already know that when he starts picking his own clothes I will happily let him wear it no matter what it looks like :D

lol my 4 yr old is too lazy to pick his own clothes but i let ihm do his undies, socks and pick out a top

I used to dress my DD then she'd put whatever she wanted to wear over her clothes. She'd go out wearing the most ridiculous outfits, I didn't care.

DD1 picks her own clothes and has done since before she turned 2, i tend to lay things out but she will come in and pick a different top to go with it or shoes that 'match' she also picks out hairclips and headbands to match.
I have no idea where she gets her sense of style as i have none whatsoever.
We have had days where she has decided on shorts over leggings in completely different colors but then she seems to pick her rainbow sandals to go with it and she ends up looking uber cute :p
In the end i figure she's a kid, it's all part of figuring out who she is, i've seen adults walk out in green pants, a purple rara sjirt with a bright yellow t-shirt and pink headband...

Ok. So I had my first taste of this this morning. DS is currently wearing a trenchcoat/jacket thing that goes down to his knees and is bright yellow.
with crocs.
*sigh*
