How does what other people feed their children affect YOUR life? Seriously, it doesn't. I don't care whether other peoples 6mth old babies are eating cheeseburgers or home made slow cooked organic sauces over their wholemeal pasta. I only care about what my kids are eating.
pmsl....wow...seriously? So now everytime I go out with my children I should conduct myself in a certain way just so that I don't mortify and offend someone enough that they start a thread on me and then others will accuse me of child abuse? I'm sorry but I have been abused as a child and I sure wish the extent of my abuse was simply getting a bloody burger given to me. I cannot fathom that people judge other mothers for **** like this. Seriously. Who friggen cares? Is it your child? No. Do you know how many times her kid gets this sort of stuff? no. I couldn't give two ****s what other people do with their kids (within reason, I wouldn't stand by watching a child being beaten or anything) But I tell you now if someone came up to me and had a go at me for something I was doing (as trivial as the above mentioned maccas) they would definately not like the reception. And if that's all it takes to be judged and branded an abuser, then bloody call docs on me now and lock me away!
Tinks it doesn't affect my life one little bit, I've simply been replying to a thread started by someone else on BB and I have every right to judge anything that I choose to judge just as other are making judgments on everything they do or say in life and what others are doing or saying. Some judgments people deem as good and others bad.
KL, did you get out the wrong side of bed this morning? ;) Your post sounds like a big whirl wind of **** you attitude. I will judge anyone who is feeding an INFANT of 6 months junk food of any description even if it's ONCE. Would I go and say something, NO. As Tinks has pointed out it doesn't affect my life, I'm not the one who is responsible for that baby.
No cherished I didn't get out of the wrong side of bed this morning. But how would YOU feel if someone was judging something that you were doing as a parent? Or are you just that fantastic as a mother that you never make any mistakes or do anything wrong?
I'm sure there are people judging me! That was my point in my last post, everyone is always judging everyone else, some judgments are good and others bad. Besides everything that everyone else makes up about me has got nothing to do with me and it's non of my business, they are entitled to their opinion as am I. At the end of the day 'I' am the one who needs to be OK with my parenting choices and others can get stuffed. In the case of feeding a baby of 6 months of age junk food I am happy to publicly state that I judge that to be bad.
I am sounding like a dog with a bone on this topic now and will not post about it again. Obviously many people think it's ok to feed a baby **** food and I accept that is their choice and their babies health not mine.
I've felt like crap after eating too much salad. As a previous post said it's about portion control. If your serving is too large you will feel like a python that swallowed a pony no matter what you ate. If I eat maccas I get a cheese burger and I generally feel fine afterwards. I presume that if I ate 6 of them I would feel dreadful.
On the feeling judged being a positive influence point; I think that depends on who you are. I can see that for some people it might be an incentive to stop but for people who have a more contrary nature it's just an encouragement. Years ago when I worked in a bar I had a preggy customer who usually got juice and had a very occasional champagne. On the day that someone made a nasty comment to her about drinking with her big belly she came straight back for a second. I guess it was her way of saying **** You. I'm kind of like that too. If I smoked and if you judged me I would probably light up another and blow it in your face just to **** you off.

although with the drinking one.. If I were to a have an odd glass of champers whilst carrying the big belly, and I happily admit I do, I wouldn't get another, I'd very nicely say **** You to their face... :p
I have to admit, if I personally seen a 6 month old eating a cheesebuger, I would cringe. First reaction and all that.
We rarely buy the crap, very exxy to feed 8 there!!! ;)
I can cook a quick cheap dinner here for way less than about $50-$60 bucks!!
But I do get it when on my own..... :p
Not sure about 6 but i've had 4 and felt pretty content and satisfied...could I have gone 5? Probably, will let you know next time i'm in a cheeseburger eating contest (which surprisingly is quite often...) ;):

I feel perfectly fine after downing my lush home made maple syrup and bacon cupcakes!
What is it with cheeseburgers, quarter pounders are the way to go :p.

DD's second birthday today. We are all going out for nuggets and chips at the local Tabaret/Hotel in the semi rural town that I live. I must be REALLY bad, as I am potentially exposing my kids to gambling as well!
Yet, none of you know what really happens when we are at home and eating a *normal* meal. :)
