Great parenting book for 5+ (Primary Aged kids).....

As the title says both my kids are 5+ and with DS about to start school next year (are you freaking kidding me??) I am looking for rec's for great books on parenting for this next stage of our lives.

I have both Raising Girls and Boys but looking for something to help us parent better, and have some strategies to help the kids build self-esteem and sense of self and independence and empathy for each other. There is a HUGE amount of sooking going on around here and both DH and I are a bit at wits end with yelling and trying lots of strategies and not much working.

Would love some ideas as I feel like when the kids were little I read heaps and was on BB lots - I haven't been on here for ages as am working full time now so might be nice to have a book to read before bed that might help.

Thanks Hun was wondering about science of parenting and if it might be too young?

Anyone read much of Laura Markham of Aha parenting? Unconditional parenting seems like a must read!

Sci of parenting has school age stuff and brain development. It's fab.

All 3 books have helped my marriage too as they changed the way I think and speak to DH as well as DS. So def all ages!

what about the five love languages for children and teenagers... you might find that an interesting read as well - not specifically about parenting in general... but I think there are some useful concepts and it's a reasonably easy read.
