I'm just wondering, does anyone know what the "average" daily routine is for a 5-6 month old baby? I'm saying average because I know every baby is different, but just wanting to know if my bub's is doing ok or if she's going too long between feeds etc.
After 2 kids, you think I'd know what to do for the 3rd! But both my boys were so totally different, and it was 3 years ago since I've had a 5month old, and can't remember.
Basically Darby has been running on a 3 hourly routine, meaning 5 breastfeeds a day. (instigated by her, but I never used to let her go more than 3.5hrs without a feed during the day to teach her the difference between short sleeps during the day & long sleep at night).
Anyhow, just the past few days she's been stretching herself out to an almost 4 hourly routine. I'm letting her do it as I know she's getting older. Is 4 breastfeeds & 1 solid (rice cereal) feed a day ok for an almost 6 month old? She's a fantastic feeder, and always empties both breasts (she looooves her milk). Is it because I've started her on cereal that she's happier to go longer? She hasn't woken up during the night for feeds or anything, and not showing any other signs of hunger. Mainly she's not tired until she's been awake for a good 2hours, then will have a great 2 hr nap.
