ah hoy me hearties...its a pirate party

so my 4 yr old is having a pirate party at school to go with their pirate unit of work they hve been doing. he is really into pirates at the moment and i wanted to make some "pirate food" to take along to the party as we have to take a plate to share with both classes. our class is taking care of the sweets..so tell me what are your sweet treat ideas that i could make to share that are pirate related???

i did think of blue jelly cups mush up the jelly like the ocean and make little flags to go in it..

    but would love other ideas

Hollow out a coconut and fill it with choc rum balls?

Puff pastry triangles cooked onto a skewer to look like flags, you could put jam, fruit or choc in them

Sent from my iPhone, more than likely while I should be doing something else!

I've no idea how you'd do this, but maybe little treasure chests? You could make out of gold paper and fill with goodies.

Biscuits decorated in skull and cross-bones

Then hide all the lollies and make a treasure map for the kids to find them

Wow ZF & tashybabe great ideas there! A pirate party sounds great with stuff like that being served

Now do I have anything to contribute... ummmmmm only that I have seen pirate cookie cutters on ebay. Or you could decorate regular cookies maybe the size of gold coins with gold cooking glitter stuff. Maybe you could even find something that can make the skull and cross-bone indentation into the cookies? You could also buy lollies that could be threaded onto string along with some of the gold coin chocolate thingos and make necklaces out of them for the kids to wear.... and then eat!

You could use chocolate coins as the treasure - the ones in the gold foil.
