we are having our new friends ( well DHs schools friend, and his wife) and their little girll over for dinner tonight,
it isn't a big Dinner Party, but I want to have a nice dinner
I want something easy, because I don't want to look like I was cooking all day, as the other lady works, and I don't want her to have to go to 'lots' of trouble in the future to reciprocate
I was thinking Spagetti Bolognaise with my special sauce, garlic bread and chocolate brownies and ice-cream for dresser....
I made killer brownies the other day and am keen to make them again.....
do you think this sounds alright! I haven't had anyone other than family or really good friends over for ages, and yeah, stupid me over thinking things again
Oh, I just LOVE dinner parties!!!
Your menu sounds really yummy! I've never thought of putting salad with Spag Bol.
I'd love to have another dinner party/theme night, you've put the itch in me again now!
Good luck with it, any chance you could share your Brownie secret? I've been looking for a good recipe but none have really taken my fancy yet. ???? Please????
There was a brownie in a jar recipe on here.... But I needed to change the recipe to fit a bigger tin....
the original recipe is in the dessert recipe section....
But mine is
2 cups of plain flour, pinch of salt, just under a teaspoon of baking soda.... 2/3 cup cocoa, 2 cups sugar.... 125g butter, 3 eggs and grated chocolate or choc chips 1 cup and a little extra butter
It's the pefrect amount of ingredients for a 22cm long rectangle pan. If you just have a square pan the measurements are...
1 cup flour, pitch salt, pitch bicarbonate
1 1/2 cups sugar
1/3 cup cocoa
1 cup choc chips or pieces
2 eggs and 125 g of butter
