Soup is usually served before salad.
ETA, yes OP, the Nicoise is a tuna salad, traditionally with (cut up) hard boiled eggs, boiled potatoes, sliced tomatoes, green beans, green salad leaves, topped with nicoise olives, tuna, and anchovies. They vary though.Enjoy.
