We're considering a kitty cat too but neither of us have ever owned cats so don't know what to expect.

My main concern is that I've heard cats and babies can be a bad combination - horror stories about cats smothering bub's and things like that, or cat hair being so fine it gets in baby's airways etc.

What have been people experiences with cats and babies?
We've not had a problem with Moe getting into the cot as we have a net over it for mosquito's and we use it ALL the time. We had the cat first then the baby came a few years after that so when I set the nursery up I would let him into the nursery but shoo him away from the baby stuff. He goes in to have a look and likes to sleep under the cot but I have never found him IN the cot nor have I ever found cat fur int he cot either. Change table YES but NEVER in the cot.

In fact he took a few sniffs of DD when we first bought her home and he was never interested int he crying wriggling thing that was foreign to him
