We have a beagle and a ****er spaniel and we're leaving them just for the one night, and I'll be home early in the morning. They are outdoor dogs normally. We have a dog proof backyard (have to - we have a beagle ), and they don't wear their collars at home, only for walks. Reason being, when they play, the ****er spaniel has a habit of chewing the beagle's collar off, and then eating it. The last collar this happened to, the metal bits vanished as well as the tag with the beagle's name and our phone number.
I get anxious when we have to leave them overnight (only done it twice before), but more so without their collars on. But the risk of madam spaniel eating the collar is huge. They are always fine normally when we're here and they are both microchipped. Ahhhh, what to do?! Collars or no collars.
